We'll probably find out this weekend.
Possibly something time related.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyAs Ironwood, Mercury, and many, many other fictional characters can attest to, loosing a limb is no big deal. We have a trope for this kind of scenario folks. Yang's fine, Overdrawn at the Blood Bank at least she's bleeding like crazy, even then, I'd still not be worried. Fictional characters have a tendency for surviving horrific wounds.

I wanna say Anti Magic/Dust/Semblance, just to skirt the seemingly obvious choice of time control, so Cinder is Brought Down to Normal for her fight.

Ironwood had his spine replaced. An arm is nothing.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyOkay, I'm recovered from having pushed the panic button over the trailer.
Sorry for doing that again. I should have learned after "Destiny's" trailer to not do that.
AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!I have to applaud Rooster Teeth/RWBY's current animation team/whoever's in charge of producing these previews. Making a shortened, 30-second teaser suspenseful, out of 13-14 minutes of content, without ruining anything too vital isn't an easy thing to do, Or maybe I'm still traumatized from Terminator Genisys and Batman v Superman's trailers, but regardless, these previews are rather neat.
Oh man, you can actually see the bloodied stump . I thought they were going to wuss out on that and make her blood yellow or just not show it.
- Yang and Blakey, sitting in a
pool of their own bloodtree. K-i-s-s-i-n-g. - Blake found bandages, but couldn't she have just used Gambol Shroud's... oh right, Adam kicked it away.
- So... Yang completely blacked out after the injury? That's a little surprising. Even Blake maintained consciousness long enough to run away.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!

I've seen Monty, Kerry and Miles say two things in interviews about Ozpin:
- He's very old, so it will take a lot before he'll fight all-out (and Monty had very specific plans for Ozpin's first fight from a very early stage in the development of the show).
- He is extremely powerful (and very smart) which is why Cinder has to play a patient, underhand game against him. They strongly implied that the only successful way to oppose him is via brains and patience.
The WoR (Aura) also uses Ozpin as a silhouette when stating that, with enough time and training, Aura can be developed to the point where a Huntsman becomes more than just a man.
So, there's definitely something going on with Ozpin's power and abilities.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.![]()

Blake's injury wasn't as big as Yang's.
I feel like Ren and Nora are going to try to help them.
I just realized that one of Yang's potential fates is getting a mechanical arm. She might become this generation's Edward Elric, except without the pipsqueak Berserk Button.

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
Oh Christ, you're right. Blonde with a mechanical arm and a well-known Berserk Button.....

Well, Yang's other fate is getting more badass without her arm like Sesshomaru from Inu Yasha. And the one a few of us were panicking over.
That's not what I was panicking over. Also, Sesshomaru is Inu Yasha's older half brother. He loses his left arm while trying to steal Inu Yasha's BFS.

It's unlikely that death will occur. Plot Armor, Sun!

AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!Then she better get Adam to come back and cut off the left leg as well.
But yeah, Yang just lost an arm's worth of blood. Between that, shock, and sheer pain, I'd be more concerned if she was conscious. As for Blake, adrenaline is a hell of an anesthetic, and yeah, she isn't injured nearly as bad as Yang. Relatively speaking, of course; they'll both be good and dead without medical attention. Sounds like the perfect time for Jaune to live up to his namesake.
Judging by the preview, Blake's wound is more "left-side" than "gut."
