Holy crap guys, twenty pages in two days? Let a brother catch up. Anyway.
Fashionably late, as usual. Hope we don't get another No Brakes fakeout. Lessgo
- Neo getting the scoop. Hey, that's a convenient way of changing outfits.
- And that's the first time she's communicated in canon! I wonder if she's just like an angsty teen who refuses to speak outside of text messages.
- Adam burning through all his sympathy points quick, huh. Don't care, still cool.
- Man, the Paladin's upgraded.
- OH LORD IS THIS IT?!
- OH MAN IT IS. Theme Music Power-Up and everything!
- Fuck. Yes. Velvet new best girl.
- DO THE SUMMON.
- Goddaaaaamn, that was good.
- I know Ruby is the protagonist and all, but Roman and Neo tag team! How can you not root for them? Also how can they not lose, they're both beasts.
- Roby was smart, Neo vocalized and got Mary Poppins'd, Roman showed care for another human being and it's the first time anyone's actually said Neo's name. All good.
- Roman laying the beatdown and Breaking Speech.
- OH FUCK NO. Goddammit, are you kidding me? You do not do that. Worst episode 0/10.
- Okay that almost makes up for it. Ironwood's the fucking man. And Cardin's there too I guess.
- I wanna have Ironwood's babies.
- SCYTHE MODE
- Comradeship!
- Where the fuck has Yang been?
- Let's not have Yang save Blake, please. That'd be lame.
- noooo this is gonna go badly I just know it
- "You have a choice to make". Yeah and a drowning rat has a choice between taking the cat's hand and dying.
- Okay, that's kinda domestic violence-y. Not cool, Adam.
- And that's kinda shippy.
- Oh no. Oh nooooooo
- Holy fuck did he just stab her?
- JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
- is this for real
- Oh fuck I almost thought they did it for a second.
- Well, he was right. She ran.
- Looks like Cinder has a personal stake here. Not just power for power's sake.
- This will be a hell of a fight.
Okay, that's that. Goddamn, what a Wham Episode. I'll hold on hope for Torchwick until they pry it from my cold dead hands.
I find it interesting how they seem to be capitalizing on Adam as a hateable villain. He had all the markings of an Evil Is Cool type, but between being a Hero Killer, having severe rape/abusive relationship undertones, and overall being kind of a prick, he's clearly there to be hated, not liked.
On the flipside, man, Ironwood's probably been the biggest 180 in fandom reaction in the show. When he first showed up he looked like a textbook Commander Contrarian, now everyone's swooning over him.

Yeah, RT really went out on a limb to reverse our thoughts about those two.
The thing with Ironwood is that
- he's actually quite reasonable (the aftermath of both Cinder's break-in and Yang kneecapping Mercury)
- he does have good intentions (he DOES want to protect the civilians etc
- when push comes to shove he is competent, badass and not afraid to go on the frontlines to get shit done.
The scene doesn't look like Roman got Killed Off for Real.
Compare the scene to Amber or Penny's deaths. Amber's death had a sense of dread not unlike Yang's disarmament, while Penny's was long and drawn out to fully impact the fact that she's dead, discounting the whole she's a robot thing.
My prediction is that Roman will probably come out asking for his hat or something. Then again, one of the major influences of RWBY is an anime where people die left and right out of nowhere, so hell if I know.

Eh, if they're going to end up rebuilding Penny or repairing her (which seems at least somewhat likely since her arc didn't feel remotely complete), they really need to have at least some of the apparent deaths this volume stick. Now, granted, I expect we'll see another genuine death in the finale, possibly Ozpin, or, if their feeling particularly devious, Pyrrha will end up being shanked in the back by Neo, just as we breathed a collective sigh of relief after expecting something horrible to happen to her the entire volume.
Roman was originally supposed to be a one off villain, and at this point, he's largely served his role in the plot; consider also the Death by Irony factor in it; where he's Killed Mid-Sentence proclaiming he's a survivor.

As cool as Taiyang being the Cowardly Lion, I'm not sure about that.
I mean, his name doesn't have anything to do with lions. Qrow, Ironwood, Glynda and Ozpin at least have their names based on the books' characters. That's their theme. Dorothy has her shoes, so the one based on her may have a fancy looking pair of shoes... and kicks better than Mercury.
I think Roman said Neo's name when she first debuted, though.
Also, about what happened near the end... Oh, Jauney boy.
Some parts of tumblr are blaming him. Even if he was paying attention, Ozpin is busy making the machine work. And Cinder is like, Level 420 to Jaune's Level 20.
He will not win regardless. Yet they blame my boy about it...
A stranger is like the shadows. It is so common to the world everyone will just ignore them.RWBY also feels inspired by the likes of Ga Rei Zero, considering Adam's inspiration.
Watch SymphogearOoh, I remember something.
I watched the Monkey King recently, about Sun Wukong's birth to his punishment being buried under a mountain. He beat the Ox King by plucking one of his horns off.
Imagine RWBY's Sun avenging Yang and Blake by breaking one of Adam's horn off. Or at least scar the guy.
A stranger is like the shadows. It is so common to the world everyone will just ignore them.
