Ah.

@ Frozen Wolf 2: I speak Chinese, though not Mandarin.

Incidentally, searching "cantonese dub RWBY" produces the Japanese opening.

For me it's usually about the setting. In Black Lagoon, Rock is the only Japanese character, so it's weird listening to the rest of the cast throughout the different arcs. In a show that's centered primarily in Japan with Japanese high school students, say Haruhi, yeah, English voices don't really work.

That said, I like the Japanese RWBY opening.

[up] Agreed. Something like Black Lagoon or Baccano or Hellsing should be listened to in English because it makes far more sense for the characters to be speaking English. Similarly, I would not be interested in English-dubbed Durarara because it's set in Tokyo.

Although considering that RWBY is set in a fantasy world that is not Earth there's no real reason for the characters to be speaking English. Hrm.

[up][up] Same here; for the same reason, I prefer English dub of Fullmetal Alchemist (both animes).

So it seems that we will be getting the release date of Volume 2 in few days. Nice.

A random thought.

This series managed to, at least among the ones I watched, achieve Arc Fatigue in the shortest amount of time with fewest episodes ever.

As much as I love Jaune and understand that he's pretty much the Deuteragonist, giving him four episodes in a 16 episode volume was a little bit excessive.

The Initiation Test arc lasted 4 and 1/3 episodes, but there were focus on pretty much the entirety of Team JNPRWBY and every episode had multiple awesome moments.

Jaune's arc (hurr hurr hurr), on the other hand, had pretty much the whole episodes by himself, shared with Pyrrha, and only two definitely awesome moments. I think I might have liked it better if it was just wrapped in two slightly longer episodes, or three regular episodes.

Hmm...since Ruby, Weiss, and Blake got her character arcs, in volume 2 the first major arc will be about Yang.

'Bout the dubs, aren't they all fan made?

Goddammit, the mere mention of a Japanese opening got the opening from Attack on Titan stuck in my head.

Guren no Yumiya is actually THE most viewed anime opening on You Tube of all time.

[up] Speaking of this and also previously speaking of Baccano, I found a thing. An amazing thing.

Holy crap, that's absolutely amazing! It deserves at least 10 times more view than it has right now. [tup][tup]

I said this before, but you know which character will most definitely appear in RWBY?

Bertilak de Hautdesert, aka the Green Knight.

He's way too cool and color themed to not to appear. evil grin

With regards to the Japanese dub, I could argue that it is interesting to see something re-translated into another language. I probably won't watch the dub, but the opening was interesting.

Why don't we add the Red Baron too? Other than the Green Knight, any more historical figures who has a color for their title?

Were those fan dubs? The ones where they speak Japanese/Chinese?

There's more people with the name Barbarossa according to Wikipedia, so ya gotta be specific...

Still, there's only room for one beard here, and Blackbeard won XD

Okay, just one more so we can have team RGBY (Rugby, Rigby, I dunno lol)

Waittaminute that's just team RWBY with one different letter. Not good.

It would be funny to see a team full of foul mouthed individuals. Why not, they probably named themselves [lol]

And, wow, all the way to page 98? How the hell did you find it?

Personally, I hope to see an Earl Grey (maybe that'll be Ozpin's dirty little secret; he was working under an assumed name and he was drinking bergamot tea instead of coffee all along).

Who else could go on a hot drink themed team....

Are there any specific figures associated with them, though (keep in mind that Earl Grey is a black tea)...?
