Sorry, are you replying to a different poster? I'm once again calling attention to this crowner that's been around for months.

No, I was replying to you.

I personally haven't hollered this crowner as we don't have descriptions of the individual options. I always prefer to have them before crowner call since they can reveal whether the crowner option is workable. It allows us to prevent messes like the Super Weight TRS thread.

In addition, make sure neither gets turned into "Prudes [ie, anyone who doesn't approve of BDSM] Are Bad, Mmmmkay?".

Or the opposite, for that matter.

Oh.

I thought by description you meant what the tropes are about. Again, description's not a strong point for me so I can't help much.

There were crowners for splits called before the descriptions were made, like Stop Helping Me.

I'm pretty sure "description" is used all the time around here and almost always with one particular meaning. What you were referring to would, at best, be "crowner descriptions" or "descriptions on the crowner". I'm pretty sure someone as veteran as Septimus is not that stupid.

[down]Well, at least you admit it. :D

If anyone's stupid, it's me.

Bumping this. Any description for the tropes in the crowner.

Calling crowner.

Crowner has been called in favor of "Split into two tropes: BDSM Is Evil and Bondage Themed Baddie. " Please start brainstorming the descriptions for the two new tropes.

I've created sandboxes for both tropes. However, as-is they are fairly short, as I am not familiar with BDSM at all: BDSM Is Evil and Bondage Themed Baddie.

I edited the first one a bit. Added related tropes to the description and tried to use concise wording.

Crown Description:

Bondage Is Bad has no strict guidelines on what it covers, and presently includes examples based on costumes, dialogue, the perceived attitudes of the authors, and other things. It is also being used as a platform for attacking works deemed to portray it in an unacceptable way.

Three tropes have been suggested; these names are not final.

  • BDSM Is Evil: The practice itself is actively (read: not just if you look at it a certain way) portrayed as base and immoral.
  • Bad Guy Likes Bondage: A villain is shown to have an interest in BDSM.
  • Bondage Themed Baddie: A villain has a BDSM theme or motif.
