OH WOW, the ultimate big baddie is Erina’s mom! I actually enjoyed the resolution to Takumi and Soma’s rivalry. The flaming stereotype Gayngster chefs, not so much.
15 chapters remain.
Aaaaaaaaand dunzo! Honestly? Loved it all the way through! Yes, there were some bad parts, particularly the matches with Asahi's henchmen and Asahi's own weird Power Copying ability (even for a born great chef I... don't think that's how cooking works), but much like Naruto the actual final showdown was great.
And to those disappointed by the ending: if you didn't know there are three epilogue chapters that I think were released via different platform that provide a lot more resolution, and they're on the Viz website.
I'll give some more thorough reasons as to why I think this series is highly underrated here later, but I'm winded now, both from finally finishing my binge here and learning that I finally got a job today after months of trying!
Happy to serve!
Oh don’t get me wrong, the final arc was by far the weakest; the fact that they didn’t have an actual chef on the team anymore being quite obvious and getting the remaining Nakiri backstory being the best part because Erina is the best real main character.
It’s just that I was expecting something like, Star Wars Holiday Special level bad hearing people talk about it here.
So out of boredom, I’ll ask this.
What would a hypothetical crossover with Dragon Ball involving Beerus be like?

I’m yet again strongly reminded of something from YGO GX, specifically the pro duelists from the second season, who all of played the parts of odd characters while dueling, like a Kabuki actor, Sadist Teacher, and escaped mental patient, for instance.
In turn inspired by wrestling, I’d imagine.
