I wish the story would move away from the school.
The academy is fucking awful. They don't teach anyone anything there. It looks like its just a marathon of "Are you a fucking amazing chef already? No? Get the fuck out."
Its not a school, its a reality show.
New chapter:
For those who predicted that there would be a sort of Moral Victory, and that it would be down to Shinomiya himself to keep both Souma and Megumi at Tootsuki, you're right.
Even Tadokoro's food radiates a calming, motherly aura. It's so cheesy it goes right back to awesome.
Now I feel kinda bad for calling Shinomiya narrow-minded.
Yeah, I'd have reacted like him in that situation. Except I'd have fired those guys a lot quicker.
Is it just me or does this feel like you took a Kung-fu epic and replaced kung-fu with food? Pretty cool however.
The new chapter's up.
Apparently the greatest quality of Tadokoro's cooking is "hospitality". Makes sense.
I like that they showed Souma's feelings about losing, to an opponent who hadn't even done his best.
Chapter 28 is out.
I like the trial this time around, it's basically working while exhausted. I doubt it'll be that simple though.
A couple of new characters appear, both look confident that they can match Nakiri's cooking. We'll see what they can do.
Oh and we finally see some characters react to Soma's shokugeki. Niku and Aldini are funny.
Chapter 29:
This trial proves to be interesting for Souma, as it will not be enough to make his food delicious.
We see some other characters tackling the challenge, a panel or two apiece.
The two people who taunted Erina seem like promising rival chefs. Hilarious that the intimidating guy is explicitly told to be intimidating.
New chapter.
This series really needs to cut down a bit on the cliffhangers.
Well, there is a cliffhanger almost every chapter. You get used to it after a while.
"Would you marry my grandson?"-> awesome!
Tadokoro's so homely random strangers want her to marry their grandsons.
Erina's really taking the Queen title seriously. Even her dishes are dominating.
Souma's in a pinch! I'm rather glad Megumi beat him for once~ Takumi too.

Chapter 31: Get ready for epicness, because Souma's about to give away 190 dishes in half an hour. I'm thinking he'll cook up some sort of dessert.
Great chapter. I liked Souma's shortcoming— he was cooking with a special-of-the-day-shop mindset and thus failed to adapt to buffet-style dishes. Erina's self-proclaimed white-haired rival also gets to hype up her cooking skills reasonably, via three creative egg dishes and almost matching up to Erina's plate count!
Special mention to Nikumi, who's making good use of the Don RS teachings~

New chapter.
Soma was awesome there
Nakiri Alice,hun?
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Frickin' Soma. It was expected that he'd macgyver his failed souffles into an unusual, scrumptious dish, and that he'd utilize word-of-mouth, but to think he'd use the actual cooking process to attract guests! This guy knows how awesome his cooking style is and shows it off. Brilliant stuff.
Nakiri Alice, huh? Frankly I don't really care about her name; her dishes were enough to hype her up. Though her friendliness is a nice contrast to Erina's tsun. I'd have liked to see more than silhouettes of the other promising young chefs. I can make out bandana dude, at least.
P.S. Props to that background character who completed the assignment!
6 meals per minute, like the boss that he is.

Regarding the silhouettes again, I can also make out the elf-ish guy (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check out chapter 4, same page where a lot of notables appear). Possibly the glasses girl too.
New chapter.
So they're cousins. Interesting.
Alice's reliance on shiny new techniques is going to backfire big-time.
Chapter #34 is out now.
Huh that's an interesting development
I consider it my duty to ensure that, should you be surprised by a bear in your library, you will have ample ammunition to beat it to death. It was obvious it was gonna be Souma's dad. What I find more interesting is is that Jouchirou's last name was Saiha. Would that mean the Yukihira came from his wife? There have been hints of this before so it's not surprising.
Damn, I would have liked to see Doujima cook; it looks like he's in the same league, possibly even better than Souma's dad.

We do know from the first chapter that Jouchirou loved his wife. Could be that he took on her family name instead

I have a feeling Shinomiya will say he lost. Voluntarily or no. It's how these things usually go.
Would be kind of a copout, but then I don't see how the pair will survive the shokugeki without it being contrived. I guess I'd be fine with it since there's still stuff to do in Tootsuki.
