All the shorts will be in different settings apparently, maybe the Paris one being in French means they'll all be in the native language of the place the short takes place in. For example the one that takes place in Tokyo has everyone speaking in Japanese.
If they keep the story & humor universal like they did with the first one, I see no problem with it being in other languages.
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you! It's pretty much the same principle as Tom and Jerry's humor, which is more or less universal (with maybe some cultural nuances, but ones that don't detract from the overall humor).
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. Is it just me or does this art style/animation look like Epic Mickey's? Specifically the second game's cutscenes.
To be honest, I think that style probably fits "retro" Mickey more than an elaborately animated, high-budget look. His look is simple and iconic, and just seems to fit with that kind of animation.
Loved the short, BTW. I love how it feels like its own thing, rather than a slavish but ultimately imperfect recreation of the classic shorts. I think playing up Mickey as a comedic hero really is the right angle for him, capable of both slapstick and surprisingly awesome moments.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"These days, Disney seems to favor the Golden Age Mickey look rather than his more contemporary one. Not sure if that's good for the company's creative outlook, but it does mean that they try to capture some of their roots once in a while.
The first short is excellent. I keep seeing people complain about the Flash animation but here's the thing:
- It's not Adobe Flash. It's Toon Boom. They said it in an article.
- It's still animated very well.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle......... okay. O _ O
At first I thought this one might have been longer than the last one (it feels like there's more to it) but it turns out they're exactly the same timeframe. Cool.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The English dialogue (as opposed to the French dialogue from the last one) really paces the short this time instead of action sequences, which may contribute to it feeling like it lasts longer.
At first I thought it was weird that they cast Goofy as the strict snacks vendor because.... wouldn't he screw it up? Seems out of character. Then I realized...
- Goofy was the only character in the classic Disney main cast to have a full wardrobe, and WOULD be allowed in to work at a place that DOES allow both shirts and shoes, and would enforce it.
- Bill Farmer gave Goofy a more rounded personality than ever in the 90's, and this scenerio would fit his skills very well.

I checked on FB and on other places online. And once again, we get all the traditionalists tearing this ep a new one due to how it's not animated the old way.
Guys, we're in for 15 more of these! I really don't want to hear those chumps say the same complaint over and over. It's 2013!!

Apparently Mickey's got a whole new voice actor for this show: Chris Diamantopoulos
http://www.therotoscopers.com/2013/06/25/disney-shorts-debut-with-new-voice-for-mickey-mouse/
...... interesting. Isn't it Bret Iwen?
Here's an Epic Mickey clip to compare. I wish Wayne hadn't died before he was able to train Bret. He was hired as an understudy, but Wayne's health faded sooner then they thought, so he had to step up.
Hm...I'm not sure I like either of those Mickey voices. It's a shame Wayne Allwine passed. I feel like he always did the best Mickey voice—I even preferred him over Mickey's classic voices.
I do love the look and animation of these new shorts, though—it's a pretty good mix of modern and retro styles.
EDIT: Listening to that Epic Mickey clip again, he's not as bad as I thought, pretty good actually. Not a match for Wayne, but comparable at least.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Yeah, Wayne actually seemed to give Mickey the most well-rounded personality(could be nice, snarky, tricky, etc.). Iconic as it is, Walt's Mickey really does sound just like a guy doing a falsetto.
I treat all living things equally. That is to say, I eat all living thingsThe new short doesn't work for me because, for some stupid reason, Disney's video page doesn't work on Macs.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Has the new short made its way into youtube yet? The Disney site isn't letting me watch it
I can watch most of it, but the site ends up cutting off the last 45 seconds or so. Extremely annoying.
For me it only cuts it off for the last 5 seconds. Sometimes it shows me the whole thing.
Just caught the "No service" short tonight. I love the animation! I reeeallly want them to think about making a half-hour series of this, except without Goofy or Donald being in super dick mode.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI really enjoyed the second one because it took advantage of how Mickey and Donald are normally dressed. Hopefully the rest of the series will be just as good.
Every time a fairy says that it doesn't believe in humans, a human child dies. There is no series, yet. Just cool looking shorts.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceWhere can I watch the shorts? Not in AMERICUH.
the whole short was in French, but i still understood the entire story.
