Grave Encounters, which I had to watch to try to pump some last-minute Halloween spirit into me, gave me a very thorough reminder why I hate horror movies. It didn't scare me at all, but I was bawling my eyes out over this suffering film crew.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerApril Fools' Day. This was pretty entertaining, and something I'd maybe even recommend as a horror movie for people who don't like horror. The ending is apparently controversial among fans (for the unique reason of actually being Lighter and Softer than the rest of the movie), but I actually kind of liked it - The whole plot is a practical joke on the characters, and thus it's also one on the audience. That said, while looking at the trope page for it, I read about this alternate ending
, which could have been pretty cool.

I just finished watching Red State. It was a lot more intense than I thought it'd be.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!Freaks, after I was assured that everyone in the movie was in it willingly. It was actually really, really good.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerAt least part of it.
I'm not able to finish it yet, but so far it's really good.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThe Last Of The Mohicans. Yes, now. What can I say.
It was good. Not amazing, but solidly good. Better than the book, for a start (oh, spare me the shocked gasps.) It rambled less and the romantic plots were more interesting. The music was amazing (OK, I knew that before), and I rooted for the romance because there was believable chemistry. I think they did a decent job on portraying colonialism, taking into account that it's an adaptation and thus has a plot they needed to stick to. I really liked all the actors and got chills in a couple of scenes. It does have a couple of problems. One character's actions at some point are better explained through scenes that apparently were planned but not included (I'm talking about Alice's suicide). Also, the ending feels a bit abrupt, and leaves some loose ends ( Cora's future.) But overall, I enjoyed it.
... After writing this I read a few articles/blogs that were written about it at the time, and it seems that everybody was raving. My opinion doesn't sound nearly enthusiastic enough. Hopefully I won't get attacked by rabid fans.
The first episode of Gundam Unicorn (OVA's count as movies, right?)
Slow to get started but once it shifts into high gear, watch out.
I kinda want to buy the whole thing and put it through my dad's surround system.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatA nice big plate of spaghetti. Bronson makes an interesting change from Eastwood and the whole harmonica thing seems creepy and a bit odd until you find out why. That whole scene is kind of spooky and weird. I loved it.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Finished Alien.
It was really good.
I can't tell whether I like it or Aliens better.

Random Acts of Violence
(2013): Taxi Driver meets Man Bites Dog with Hipsters. Kind of interesting.

Sorority Party Massacre
(2012): Awkward horror comedy that devolves into a convoluted mess.
