The three most recent movies on the horror movie jib, in order from most recent to least:
The Pact. I found this a bit corny overall, but I do have to admit that elements of it were prime Paranoia Fuel, and the twist did catch me by surprise: it starts out seeming like a very typical haunted house movie, as the protagonist very reluctantly returns to her childhood home for her mother's funeral, spooky stuff starts happening around the house, one of her sisters never makes it there in the first place, and the other mysteriously disappears overnight. However, it turns out the ghost is trying to warn the main character rather than harm her - the mother had been secretly harboring her brother, a still-at-large serial killer, in a sealed off room in the house, the ghost had been one of his victims, and he'd already killed her other two sisters. There's apparently already a sequel, and I haven't seen it, but there's no way it wouldn't make the first one a First-Episode Spoiler. Oh, and is there a trope for fictional search engines finding obscure, plot-relevant information much faster than they would in real life? Because that was one of the sillier things in this movie.
The Hole. A family-friendly-ish PG-13 horror movie directed by Joe Dante. It's pretty lighthearted and has sort of An Aesop about facing your fears, but it does have some fairly scary moments.
Jug Face. I found this a bit too slow-moving, and the ending kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. But there's very good acting all around, and it's interesting for taking a horror premise and primarily playing it for drama rather than scares. After finishing it, I started entertaining this wmg that none of the supernatural elements were real - anything that wasn't the main character imagining things out of the guilt she felt for trying to leave the cult was said cult going to admittedly extreme measures to manipulate her. Though of course, if anything that theory makes the ending more depressing.

Repo! The Genetic Opera. One of my all-time favorite movies, and I'll probably never get tired of it. I'm super happy about this most recent viewing, because I got to introduce a couple friends to it, and they loved it!
It's actually quite rare for my friends to like the same movies I do, so it was a real treat to see everyone enjoying this film so much.
I watched Dracula Untold, it had some cool scenes and the effects were good, but it could have been better overall.
Woensdag
(2005): An amateur no-budget slasher film made solely for fun by some folks in the Netherlands. I don't know any Dutch, but I think I got the gist of what was going on. It's dark, the colors are dull and saturated, bad CGI mares several of the otherwise okay gore scenes, and the "horror reality/game show turns real" premise had been done to death even in the era the film was made. But, like I said, it was really nothing more than something a group of friends put together for entertainment, so I can't be too mad at it.
Speed Racer Caught this on really late last night and forgot how much I loved it.
It's a ridiculous movie and the closest thing to a live action anime we'll get, It's colorful, the music is great and the last race never fails to get me on the edge of my seat.

Eh, I thought it was just okay. Pretty clever for a comedy movie, but nothing too remarkable, if you ask me.
Watched GoodFellas. Not as good as I expected. I liked Taxi Driver and The Departed much better.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.Enter The Dragon, my first ever Bruce Lee movie.
I'm not a fan of Kung Fu movies, because, well... I don't know, is just not for me. I do, however, like this movie. Seeing Bruce Lee was awesome.
Saint Seiya Legend Of Sanctuary. I LOVE IT! And you know what ironic? I never liked Saint Seiya growing up. I can understand why longtime fans hate the movie, but, I love it, and want to see it again.
Death Mask sucks, though, we can all agree in that.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.By God, it was ballexplodingly awesome!
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.Maleficent.
No, I'm not too old. Shut up.
Spoilers
It really was better than I expected. There are actual compelling characters. Stefan and Maleficent are very much alike, IMO: strong personalities who start out pure, and get corrupted by their wish for revenge. Their difference is that Maleficent shows capacity for change, and Stefan doesn't. And the film inverts the whole we-just-met-and-now-we'll-kiss-and-live-happily-ever-after thing, and instead portrays non-romantic love, which was a very welcome surprise. It's not a really "deep" film, and there's the obligatory happily-ever-after of every Disney movie (not necessarily a disadvantage, but something to keep in mind.) Still, I enjoyed it.

The Flowers Of War
Judge from Rotten Tomatoes it is a case of Critical Dissonance. Batman acting like batman.
On a more serious note, I can't watch this again. It is a war movie.
