The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Disney)
Heartbreaking movie, but very good IMO.
135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311With the overabundance created by Disney and Warner Brothers alongside the sombre tone of Amazon's releases, I find Kick-Ass has aged phenomenally. In contrast to its gritty realism, it knows it's stupid and remains upbeat. I got a lot of good laughs because of this.
Outside of their passion, there's no buildup to the characters' actions making them feel hollow. The acting isn't that good and the romance subplot was unnecessary.
Right now, I'm watching Godzilla vs Kong: The New Empire.
Yesterday, I watched M3gan, Slap Shot and Lego Movie 2.
Two days before that, I watched Late Night With the Devil and Everything Everywhere.

It builds character.In a Violent Nature. The gimmick to this is kind of interesting in concept if you're versed in "slasher movies": Franchises are almost always centered on the villain, but there's never really been one that (mostly) follows the killer instead of the victims. It's not quite from the killer's POV because there's very few POV shots - the perspective usually reminds more of playing an open world video game, where the sound design is apparently based on what your character would be hearing, but the camera is a few feet behind the character so you see their back most of the time. There's a lot of Leave the Camera Running, which I guess is because 1) yeah, realistically (and without the benefit of Offscreen Teleportation) your typical slasher movie villain is going to be just slowly walking from place to place or hiding in bushes for longer periods of time than he's actually killing anybody, and 2) the violent scenes are maybe a little more jolting in comparison. But ultimately I'm just never going to watch it again because of that.

During my vacations:
How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies: A good Thai film where it never covers the real reasons why the main character wanted to take care of his grandma, when you relate it to real life you really feel sorry for any of the characters. Very sincere and not so manipulating.
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.: A good coming of age film, while there were some progressive ideas that hit on my 45 age way of thinking, the film was acceptable.
A couple days ago, Finding Nemo.
Today, Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311Yep, and next will be Lilo And Stitch, which isn't quite water-themed but does retain the tropical flavor.

Funnily enough, that's where my mind went too.
