No kidding. I expected somebody to get Thanos'd but all three members of the Pym/van Dyne family?

Boxtrolls. Good Lord, the designs were repulsive. Not that it's a problem but they weren't pleasant to look at. Was quite surprised that Steve Blum and Dee Bradley Baker provided voices for some of the main characters. A fun watch regardless but I couldn't be bothered to ever watch it again.

[up] It's universally agreed as the weakest entry in Laika's filmography. All their other movies have absolutely sublime art direction.

[up]Really? I thought the art direction was phenomenal, it's just ugly.

Pacific Rim: Uprising. Note to self: mass-produced, semi-autonomous alien-mecha hybrids will never be a good idea.

Chicago Massacre: Richard Speck: Based on the infamous mass murderer, the direction was decent, though the narrative probably could have benefited from being slightly less disjointed. While some effort was put into making it look period appropriate, it was never that believable, and neither was the setting (Los Angeles subbed for the Windy City). Parker Lewis played Speck, and his performance was alright, especially compared to the rest of the cast, who were passable to bad.

Breaking Dawn Part 2. So, overall, the Twilight movies are actually surprisingly watchable? The plot definitely some questionable subtext, but as entertainment it ranges from So Bad, It's Good to "that was actually kind of cool". I'm not gonna go read all the books or anything, but I'd maybe leave on one of the later, more action-y entries if it happened to be on TV or something. One thing that's sort of cool that I wish I'd see more long-running movies do at the end of their final entries: They do one big Credits Montage covering all 5 movies... As in pretty much any actor who said more than one line across the entire series is there, regardless whether they had any screentime in the last one or not.

By merry coincidence, my sister checked out Twilight from the library today.

It's not horrible. If you watch it seriously, it has what you're looking for.

For me, it's insane. Mullet Taylor Lautner. Watching people sleep. A vampire drifting a minivan. Vampire baseball. Wire Fu to make a Wuxia director proud. I haven't had this much fun with a movie in a long time.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. It was very nice. :)

Update for today. I watched three movies today. The first one was Another 48 Hours. It wasn't as good as the first one, I'm afraid. Earlier this evening, I saw a double feature of the first and second Sailor Moon movies. That was a lot of fun. :)

Mission: Impossible Fallout. I yelled "holy shit" during the movie and the whole theatre turned at me and laughed. I'm so embarrassed.

Batman Returns was on TV last night, so as you can tell by my new avatar, I watched part of it. :P

Sorry I've been switching avatars so frequently lately. I can't seem to freeze on one for very long.

I just got back from seeing the new dub of the third Sailor Moon movie. I remember reading that a lot of fans said it's the weakest of the three movies, but I thought it was entertainingly bad. XD

I just finished watching A Knight's Tale on iTunes.

It was pretty good. I felt like I dragged on a bit too long in the third act but other than that it was a fun film. Alan Tudyk's performance is a real show stealer in my opinion.

Saw Christopher Robin yesterday. Despite the fact that I kept drawing comparisons to Hook in my head I thought it was a genuinely sweet and charming movie.
