"None. Taken.", said Kyo, his left eye&sword-hand both simultaneously twitching...
"However...", he went on to say, doing his best to not burst into seething anger, "if there's someone here who can tell us where the goblins are — which there is — then we might as well as ask. No need to always just recklessly attack everything in sight first, eh?"
Leon thought over the situation for a second.
Goblins are attacking, he ran in here to look for help. If the Goblins are not nearby and he isn't under immediate threat of being attacked, he probably would have went to the guards to seek protection instead of hoping some random person in a tavern could fight them off. So, they are probably right outside.
Satisfied with the conclusion he came to, even though it might be wrong, Leon walked over to the tavern door and opened it to see if he could spot the Goblins.

Tv Tropes Powers. Activate!!!!!Sure enough, there was a small group of goblins right outside the tavern. And from the sound of things, they were everywhere else in the village too.
"Finds her! Finds her now!" one of them was yelling in crude Common, "Gives her to us, or we burns!" The goblin waved a torch to emphasize his point, making it fairly clear negotiation was out of the question.
The Narrator watched silently, preparing to observe how the group of adventurers handled this situation...

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Leon gestured at the goblins as he spoke to the rest of the people at the tavern.
"There you go, Goblins. If all of you wanna keep interrogating the completely terrified guy, well that's your choice, but I have a lady waiting."
Leon hoped that none of the Goblins had noticed his fairly hard to miss actions so far in all this chaos as he tried to sneak up on one of the Goblins for a backstab.
Tv Tropes Powers. Activate!!!!!Right, thought Ashi Kyo; goblins. Nasty little things too; far worse for their abominable gambling skills then anything else, as Kyo's coin-purse would attest to...
However, this would also be the perfect time for Kyo to vent some of his long pent-up anger on the species as a whole. "It's clobberin' time! Or slashing time. Or whatever..."
In any case, Kyo darted right outside upon hearing the goblin's approach, and with unparalleled skill, whipped out his blade and made to slice off the front-most goblin's head at a speed faster than the average eye could follow, all in one fell swoop...

"Could've told us they were right at the door..." Joras groused, watching Ashi fly out of the tavern in barely-disguised bloodlust. And in a lower whisper, he whispered, "You people try to find out who 'she' is and what they want with her. I'll flank them."
He headed to the rear of the tavern, checking the back door to see if there was a way around, and hoping that the commotion that Ashi was producing would provide sufficient cover.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation. The Narrator watched as half of the group of heroes charged into the fray and bashed, slashed, and took down three of the goblins with single strikes. The other two moved into position beside the group, clearly looking for an opening. Perhaps, the Narrator noted, the goblins were a little too easy for this group. It also noted no one had followed the elven ranger's advice. This was clearly not the most savvy group of adventurers, but with time, they might just learn a little more restraint.
Turning its attention to the elven mage, it noticed she was casting some kind of spell. Suddenly, she coughed mid-incantation, and there was a large puff of smoke. The smoke cleared, and where a mage had once stood a newt now scurried around frantically.
Such a pity, the Narrator mused, wondering if the woman would recover. Only time would tell...
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Well, that's a distraction if I've ever seen one. Joras scouted the pack and drew his short sword, looking for a lone goblin to sneak up on and secure for investigation. Better than interrogating a corpse, at any rate.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Leon pointed his sword at the Goblin that was shouting earlier.
"Surrender and tell us what you are doing here or I shall cut you down."
Tv Tropes Powers. Activate!!!!!"We looks for her! We looks for her! Humans take her and hide her, but we find her! You take shaman girl child, and we kill you! Kill and burns you all!"
The goblin grew frenzied. "Kill these ones too! Burns it! Finds her now!"
The Narrator wondered what the heroes would think if they knew what was really going on. Not that it mattered, at the rate they were cutting down goblins right and left. Such was the way of adventurers, after all, and it knew this better than any other being in this world.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)So the village took a shaman child? Human, or goblin?
"Okay, bugger all this," the ranger breathed, realising that the time for negotiation was over. If he had to choose between getting more information and stopping the place from burning down around his pointy ears, he'd take the latter. He decided to target the goblin with the torch - hopefully, the raiding party had more regard for the life of its spokesperson than the adventurers did for goblins in general.
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.

"Shouldn't be too hard to find," Joras commented, finally shaking off the lingering throbbing in his head. "We just need to look for a bunch of short, ugly creatures causing unnecessary disturbances - no offence, Ashi."
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.
