@48 - The problem with that is if people are not interested in repairing an article for its own sake, they have no incentive to actually make the wiki better.

Keep it breezy!

^ Bluntly, fuck 'em.

Going around pointing all over the place screaming about things being wrong, then insisting that others do the work of fixing the issues for them, does nothing except stroke their egos, and while they're doing that discussions of how to fix already known problems can get drowned out by the "fix this for me right now!" yelling... as was regularly the case before the thread caps for TRS were implemented.

(Reason #[$BIGNUM] why I will never be seriously considered for a mod position here, even if I wanted it [I don't]. tongue )

I can see the reason for the frustration here. For example, the oldest thread in Trope Repair Shop, "Rename (alt titles 5/22): Kicking Ass And Taking Names" was started on January 2012 of last year and the last activity was in January of this year. There's a crowner on it, so it says that voting is done, and I think nobody is sure what's supposed to be done at this point. Meanwhile, the thread is just there cluttering up space.

I completely agree with post 52.

In other news, more people should be diligent about posting their progress. Some are and some are not.

In that case, do you want a the wiki standard to be where no one points out problems until it happens to also be someone who feels like fixing it?

There is a difference between complaining and being impatient about why something is wrong and isn't fixed, and just reporting things. Reporting wiki problems is equivalent to hollers. Some people would lend a hand if a problem is found, but won't actively search the wiki for maintenance.

A queue and mod approval have been suggested in the past.
