Lemonade + "Garnishment" = Future Meth Cook. For sure.

Sorry, you didn't understand what I just wrote? Then you didn't watch one of the best shows on television, funnier than most comedies and tenser than most dramas every episode.

Southland, talk about it here.

What's spoiler policy here?

I think that this season so far has been much weaker than the prior ones. The primary reasons being 1) Lydia's baby story. Lydia choosing to keep the pregnancy seemed completely out of character in Season 4, and I'm not sure that there's any tv show that gets better by throwing a baby into the mix.

2) Ben is certainly hot shit right now, but he's also acting like a dick.

3) Iffy partner dynamics. I'm still not sold on Sammy/Ben. Gary Steele was a waste of time, especially after the greatness that was Jessica Tang and Coop Tang. Hopefully Lucero will be as good.

4) What the hell was the point of Chad Michael Murray's character anyways?

I'm not sure why Dewey is still around and Tammy's back, but Chickie, Nate, and now Tang are gone.

Well, as much as I loved Lucy Liu's work on this show (and it really revitalised her career, between this and more recent work critics seem to be beginning to take her seriously again) she was stolen away by Elementary. Though I wish she hadn't been, Liu was fantastic.

So I like what the writers did with Steele. He helped recontextualise Tang's departure and Cooper's friction with Ben as part of a series of disappointments. He's a bit of a fake-out, and not that important a character in and of himself, but I think he's a useful prop for Coop.

And I like Lucero a lot already, so that helps.

Why do you think Lydia would never keep her baby or raise it by herself? I don't see that as particularly out of character, though I don't think she's served well by the metaphors the show is constantly throwing at her.
