I'm actually very hyped about Life Goes On because I've been tracking Oliver Tree's chart performance since he first showed up on the Bubbling Under chart weeks ago. This song is his first ever Hot 100 entry and as a huge fan that's very important to me, and other fans of course!

Billboard Charts also reported what song was #95, but it seems like they've made an error. In this tweet, they reported that Young Thug, Future, and BSlime's "Peepin Out the Window" is #95, but in this other tweet, they said that Grupo Firme's "Ya Superame" is #95, so I'm not sure which one is true. Guess we'll wait for a potential correction.

UPDATE: The full chart is now out, and "Peepin Out the Window" is the song that debuted at #95. "Ya Superame" debuted at #92.

Seeing how Good 4 u is still in the top 10 while none of her follow ups have even touched it IIRC, I get the feeling Olivia Rodrigo may end up being a two-hit wonder (I hope I'm wrong). Still, it is nice to see a rock song (well, more in the pop-punk vein, but that still counts) in the top 10 for so long.

Taylor Swift debuts at #1 with a re-recording of the fan-favorite album cut "All Too Well" from her 2012 studio album Red, an album she recently released a complete re-recording of as part of an effort to regain control of her back catalog from her previous label Big Machine. The song's #1 debut was helped through the release of three versions, one being an exact re-recording of the original, another being an extended 10-minute version that was also accompanied by a 15-minute self-directed short film starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien, and another an acoustic "Sad Girl Autumn" version released five days after the album. Given the majority of the song's points came from the 10-minute 13-second version, that means it breaks the record for the longest #1 song in Hot 100 history, beating Don McLean's 8-minute 37-second "American Pie", which topped the chart back in 1972.

Meanwhile, Silk Sonic enters the top 5 at #5 with "Smokin Out the Window" after debuting at #8 last week thanks to the release of their debut album An Evening with Silk Sonic.

Well deserved. It's the best song in her catalog and the 10-minute version is incredible. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes Taylor's Signature Song after this, considering it's popularity with critics and fans.

But man, what a bad move on Silk Sonic's part to release their album within the same time frame as Taylor Swift and Adele. At least Smokin Out The Window is doing well, even if the song is "just good" in my opinion.

Guess we'll have to tune in next week to see the results of the Adele-calypse.

I’m happy for SZA. I really love “I Hate U”. Definitely more than I probably should.[lol]

Also if anyone can keep Mariah from getting that top spot (or at least delay it, anyway), it’s gonna be Adele.

Despite being more than a week after Christmas, Mariah Carey remains at #1 with "All I Want for Christmas Is You" mostly off of the strengths of its streams from the first two days of this week's tracking period, which falls on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This also means that there's still a lot of Christmas songs on the chart as six of them are in the top 10.

However, this didn't stop Glass Animals' "Heat Waves" and Ed Sheeran's "Shivers" from reentering the top 10, and we're gonna see several more songs reenter or maybe even hit the top 10 for the first time once all the Christmas music is gone.

With all the Christmas music gone, a lot of songs have moved up the chart. Adele returns to #1 with "Easy on Me", while the Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay", Glass Animals' "Heat Waves", and Ed Sheeran's "Shivers" jump to #2, #3, and #4 respectively, with the latter two songs reaching new peaks. Plus, Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "INDUSTRY BABY" along with Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" and Doja Cat's "Need to Know" reenter the top 10.

We've also got some new entries to the top 10. "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Disney's most recent animated musical Encanto jumps from #50 all the way to #5, making it the sixth Disney song to hit the top 10 and the first since Frozen's "Let It Go" back in 2014. It also gives all the cast members credited on the song their first top 10 hit.

Another notable new Top 10 entry is "Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)" by Elton John and Dua Lipa, which gives the former artist his 28th top 10 hit and his first since his 1997 #1 smash hit "Candle in the Wind 1997" / "Something About the Way You Look Tonight". It also gives Dua Lipa her fourth top 10.

Kodak Black also enters the top 10 with "Super Gremlin", giving him his third top 10 hit.

I’m so happy We Don’t Talk About Bruno is a hit. It’s easily one of the most unique songs in the Disney canon, while also being basically the heart of Encanto as a film.

That being said, I am SO ready for new music from the current defining acts. I know it’s only January but there are so many artists who are both coming up and have been away for too long.

"We Don't Talk About Bruno" is a pleasant surprise but also kind of wild. It's probably the least chart-friendly song in the entire movie and has next to no discernible chorus. It's as if the letter-comparing number "Notes" rose to be the best-known track from Phantom of the Opera.

Like, for the past half a century Disney top 10 hits have been stuff like "Let It Go" and the pop versions of stuff like "A Whole New World", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", and "Colors of the Wind" that usually play over the credits. "We Don't Talk About Bruno" isn't exactly from the same mold.

Adele remains at #1 for a 10th week with "Easy on Me". Meanwhile, "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from the Encanto soundtrack jumps a couple spots to #2, making it the second highest peaking Disney song behind only Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle's version of Aladdin's "A Whole New World", which peaked at #1 back in 1993. Additionally, another song from the soundtrack enters the top 10, with "Surface Pressure" by Jessica Darrow, who voices Luisa Madrigal in the movie, entering the top 10 at #10. This makes Encanto the first Disney movie to have multiple top 10 hits, plus it gives Darrow her first top 10.

Kodak Black also enters the top 5 with "Super Gremlin", giving him his second top 5 hit after "ZEZE".
