I think Pusha T may have made a Ja Rule out of Drake. Things have not gone well for him since that beef. He's got til 2020 at the latest.

Drake replaces himself at #1 with "In My Feelings" while several songs reenter the Top 10 as the Drake album bomb dissipates.

Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 (July 21, 2018)

2. Cardi B, Bad Bunny, and J Balvin – "I Like It"
3. Maroon 5 featuring Cardi B – "Girls Like You"
4. Drake – "Nice for What"
5. Ella Mai – "Boo'd Up" (Top 10 reentry)
6. Drake – "God's Plan"
7. Juice WRLD – "Lucid Dreams" (Top 10 reentry)
8. Ariana Grande – "No Tears Left to Cry" (Top 10 reentry)
9. Post Malone featuring Ty Dolla Sign – "Psycho" (Top 10 reentry)
10. XXXTentacion – "SAD!"

[up][up] Only people who hate Drake/hardcore hip hop fans believe this. Almost no one outside of those people care about The Story of Adidon. Drake isnt going anywhere chart wise anytime soon.

[up]Drake certainly cared.

Adidon aside, I'm beginning to believe Drake will prove to be one of those "decade artists": artists who gain popularity during a specific decade, go on to define it, and then slowly fade away and/or burn out once it ends. Parliament (but not George Clinton himself) was one, pretty much any Grunge act was another, Linkin Park arguably counts as well... I think Drake's in that camp. This is the Decade of Drake, the one in which he's seen the most success. When we look back on the 2010s in the future, Drake will be one of the main things we think of. But time will tell how many more "woe is me" R&B and lukewarm trap songs the public will be willing to take once the next decade establishes its own identity. Even now, the reactions to Scorpion are apparently lukewarm, then you have More Life, which was also received tepidly, and between them, Scary Hours, which might as well be a single with "God's Plan" as the a-side and "Diplomatic Immunity" as the b-side that no one talks about.

Lately it seems to me that Drake is having better luck with singles than full projects. So if he does remain successful into the 2020s, he'll probably have transitioned into a singles-only artists.

and if your response to any of this is "nah man you just hate drake" then I have to wonder

[down]Only reason I didn't include Nickelback was because they had a large/vocal hatedom even during their heyday. Then again, so does Drake, so whatever

[up][up] I don't actually disagree with the sentiment that Drake could be one of those "decade" artists (which admittedly is a lot better than most pop artists can claim) What's hurting Drake right now is overexposure and lack of innovation within his own music. Certainly not a savage diss track from an established yet non mainstream act who is a nonentity in the pop world, AKA 90% of Drake's audience.

I'm simply disagreeing with Drake being "Ja Ruled" as you stated cause the reason that happened was cause the person calling him out (50 Cent) was becoming a hip hop superstar in his own right at the time and had enough influence to truly shut down Ja. As great as Pusha is, he is not 2003 50 Cent.

I've heard somewhere that Drake is basically like what Usher was to the 2000s, which makes a lot of sense. He's just as omnipresent as Usher used to be and his star power is huge, but Usher's popularity also faded as we got further and further into the 2010s.

[up] From Wikipedia:

In October 2015, Hernandez [6ix9ine] pled guilty to one felony count of use of a child in a sexual performance. Hernandez was charged with three counts of the offense after a February 2015 incident where he had sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl and later distributed videos of the incident online. Three videos are described in the criminal complaint against Hernandez. In the first video, "the child engages in oral sexual intercourse with the separately charged defendant Taquan Anderson, while the defendant, Daniel Hernandez, stands behind the child making a thrusting motion with his pelvis and smacking her on her buttocks. The child is nude in the video.” The other videos show the child sitting on the lap of Hernandez while her breasts are groped by Anderson, and later sitting naked across the laps of Anderson and Hernandez.

Well this week's chart explains a few things. Recently I kept hearing the track "Africa" on the radio and I'm like "This is a 30 year old song, what's it doing here? Also it sounds off."

Turns out Weezer did a rendition of Toto's hit from 1983. And it's presently #64 on the chart.

[up] They also covered "Rosanna". Im thinking the endgame may be Weezer covering the entire "IV" album by Toto.
