Hell, I think my local station played "Edge of Glory" until they could no longer hang on any moment.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Honestly, I rarely heard "You and I" much at all except within the first month it was released as a single. And even less so than most of her other singles anyway.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Very true. I doubt they play this song ever in Boston:
Yeah, the key to staying in the loop is listening to various radio station. There's Top 40, Adult Comptempory, Hot AC (the combination of the two), Urban, Alternative, Country, etc. etc.
For example, my local Hot AC station and Top-40 station plays "Roar", but my Adult Contemporary station is sticking with older Katy Perry hits.
Actually, these days, I stay current by obsessively tracking music news and watching the various charts (Billboard, Shazam, Spotify, and so on).

Bieber's crossover to the 16-29 demographic (pop radio listeners) was in 2012-2013 with his most recent album. His biggest popularity was in 2009-2010 though, but his demographic was in lock step with 10-15 year olds with no crossover and that demo doesn't listen to the radio.
There are a few pop radio stations out here in the Raleigh-Durham area.
- 88.1 - Indie rock, indie electronica, indie pop, indie hip-hop.
- 93.9 - Dance top-40.
- 98.1 - Adult contemporary hits.
- 102.3 - Rhythmic top-40
- 105.1 Top-40
There are a few rock stations, oldies, and a MOR station. No modern rock outside of 88.1's mid-day shows, but considering that modern rock from new bands has as much commercial appeal as a jazz group it's not entirely surprising that it wouldn't exist even in as large of a market as Raleigh-Durham.

My favorite radio station has a daily countdown of the top most requested songs of the day.
One song that appeared was "Best I Ever Had" by Gavin De Graw. It might be country framed as an electro-pop song, but I liked it on first listen.
Also, "Roar" was #3, "Applause" #2, and for the first time, "Royals" was #1, which I contributed two votes too.
"Brave" was also #1 the other day, except it dropped to #10 today. The request lines are more flexible. "Blurred Lines" has been zoned out.
Who does "Brave" again? *has never heard it*
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Well, yes, I know she does those two songs, but thanks for the clarification anyway
"Roar" and "Blurred Lines" stay stable. "Royals" rises to #3. "Hold On, We're Going Home" by Drake and "Safe and Sound" bump "Radioactive" and "We Can't Stop" from the Top 10. "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus is expected to enter Top 10 next week because of its You Tube video.
This is exciting.
But "Applause" continues to flounder. I'm hoping that single #2 will perform better.
"Radioactive", to me, is a song that suffers from ProTools Chorus Syndrome, in that it sounds like the vocals on the choruses were sung once and then copy-pasted in Pro Tools for each repeat. That annoys me tremendously...it's slowly but surely ruining AIC's The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here for the same reason.
Eminem has a new single. Once again, like every single since his album Encore, he shows to the world that he should have disappeared in 2003 never to make music again.
He's so hokey, corny, and cliche at this point. He's technically skilled but all creativity has been sapped from him. He's the rapper dads listen to.
If it's" Berzerk", I heard of it a fewweeks ago but haven't yet bothered to listen to it. I've heard some critical praise about it, though, calling it a return to form with Slim Shady and all that.

Third best? Hardly. The music just shamelessly rehashes the structure of "Bad Romance", and the lyrics are just meh. Moreover, it sounds boring and doesn't use the Judas them to its advantage well enough. Honestly, I liked "LoveGame" even better than it—that song may have been totally shameless, but at least it was interesting.
