"That's Ammie's" Julie whispered turning glancing between Alexander and the wolf fearfully. "Ammie Barns...The one who didn't show up. I gave it to her a week ago- you know what she's like always so forgetful- But then she had too....too work late." Julie looked away guilty and Emilia stared at her.
"She'd missed her check in call.." Emilia said quietly, thinking. "She was bar-tending right?"
"No" Julie said shaking her head. "She was back to working for....working at Cashmere Escorts. She said...that she wanted the Madame's protection with the Bloody Marry Killer on the losse."
Alexander does a mental happy dance. Gentlemen, we have means, motive, and opportunity.
"Thank you. That's quite helpful. May I advise that paranet stay away from Madame Collette in the furture? At the very least, she's harmed one of you already. There's a distinct chance she might even be the Bloody Mary-And I'm not just saying this in my position as a member of the White Court."
He turns back toward the car. "I'll try to find your missing woman. If you have any information that could help, call me." He takes a blood-stained card out of his pocket-and after carefully tearing away the bloody part-writes down his cell number on it, handing it to the woman.
"Anything else we need, Beowulf, or are we finished here?"

"Beowulf is a Germanic legend," Jarl said. "I am a Scandinavian."
He moved back into the car and nodded at the vampire. Best not appear too drained in front of the supernatural predator.
"To a hospital, then."

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Alexander shakes his head. "Hospitals are legally required to report gunshot rooms. We could go back to my father's, but he prefers to have as little contact with his agents once he's given them a task as possible."
I hope to hell this is true. I don't need to talk to my father right now.
He frowns. "We need someone who can keep their mouth shut."
Brün sighed. It was a dry, sand papery sound. "You do not understand. Such a gift, and all mortals do is waste it." She shook her head. "Twice more, may you call me, and twice more I will ask. When thrice you deny me, you will die." She paused. "Assuming the Scion or my sisters do not find you first." And the she turned on her heel and was gone.
Jarl frowned.
"I do not work for Giovanni as of yet. We had...Disagreements over the terms of my contract. I could call in Eir to help him, but I doubt she would be keen on mending a child of the Fenrir. Do you know a person here in Las Vegas with medical qualifications?"
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Alexander sighs. "I dated a nurse a while back? We could try to crash into her place. How bad is he?"
He frowns. "That's strange. I was assigned by my father to assist you in your time here. I wasn't told any more than that." Translation, tail you. Let's hope he's smart enough to get the double-speak.
He hops into the car next to Jarl, and allows him to drive, still holding the shotgun, looking around carefully for any disir.
He clears his throat. "It would be helpful if I knew something of your mission here. My father tends to be...forceful. However, his agenda and mine do not always align."

Jarl frowned again. "I would prefer not to inconvenience any civilians. If we have no other option, I will attempt to call on Eir again. Perhaps she will be appeased if I can find a suitable offering. Where is the nearest apothecary?"
He looked at the vampire. He was obviously not working for his father. No doubt he had his own agenda.
"I am looking for something that was stolen from the company to which I belong, Monoc Securities." He hoped the name would strike a chord.
"Apotek" or "apothecary" (referring to a place where you can buy medicine rather than one who is in the business of selling medicine) is the Danish term for a drug store.

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Alex nods, and begins to give directions to a local drugstore.
"I'll pay. I try to at least take care of people who have helped me. Besides, that was an impressive display of power, both of you, and the little wolfling."
Translation-I can offer a lot more than my father. Unlike him I won't screw you over. But you have to play ball with me first.
He smiles at the name Monoc. I thought he had the look.
"Something powerful?"

"Very well." Jarl took up a notepad and scribbled something on the page. "Get me these things, then we will go to a secluded location and get the ulfheðnar* back on his feet. Or paws, as the case may be."

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Alexander pauses. Jarl clearly wanted him out of the car for something. That meant that it was something that needed to be hidden. At the same time, he needed to get the man's trust. He frowns, considering asking for the keys, then decides to take a gamble. He reaches out, taking the list, then walks off to the pharmacy.
"Be back in a bit. Disir come, the signal's to call down lightening from the heavens while grunting angrily in old norse."
"I can do that."
As Alexander leaves the car, Jarl spares a glance at Terrence before mumbling into his pendant: "It appears the situation here is more complicated than we originally thought, Allfather. And I'm guessing Eir isn't all too happy with me."

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Leon grimaced as he took a seat. He was a bit relieved to take pressure off his injured leg but he didn't like being here in the least. This woman was blatantly a warlock but his last stupid move had knocked enough sense into him that if he tried to attack her they'd be screwed. He was a bit flabbergasted that Gabren was chatting with her civilly but his anger at the situation covered that part up. He itched to put the crime queen in her place and free her thralls but he was pretty sure death would await him if he tried.
Click Click Boom BoomThe Madame pursed her lips. "Direct. But then you are a Warden." Folding her hands The Madame leaned back in her chair. "My issues with that man are not any concern of the Council's- I have no desire to involve them in my territorial disputes. The interloper will be expelled from the city and it's surrounding lands, and he will be so by my power alone. I did not ask you here to discuss that." She extended her hand and Reinette placed a the binder from earlier in it. "This-" She gestured at the binder. "Contains all the information my people could collect on the Warlock killer the plebeians are referring to as 'The Bloody Marry'." She placed it on the tea table and pushed it towards them. "It is yours."
"That's not quite the understatement of the century. But it sure comes close." Came a cool voice from beside him.
Where there had been an empty passenger seat a moment ago, sat a woman. Thought "Woman" was a bit of an understatement. Built like an amazonian high priestess, all long blond hair, star blue eyes, and dressed in a long, flowing gown of white, a bag of blue silk at her waist and stone knife tucked into her golden sash.
"Hello Jarl." Eir said coolly.

Jarl blinked. Then he blinked again. Odin's beard, this was going to be fun to explain to the vampire.
"Eir. I apologize for calling upon your blessings so frivolously, but I encountered your Fallen sisters. You know I would not have beseeched your blessings unless it was absolutely necessary."
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies."I am not angry at you for invoking my blessing. It was gifted to you so you could do just that." She said quietly, her voice cold. "I am angry for how you used it. I am an agent of mercy Jarl, I a bringer of hope. You used the power I gave you to destroy, to kill." She turned her gaze on him, her crystal blue eyes burning fierce. "You dealt the final death to one of the dísir, with the power I granted you." She declared.

"I apologize, Eir. I saw no other way of saving the werewolf, keeping myself alive, and having even the remotest chance of rescuing the White Council wizard."
He heaved a deep sigh. "And I even failed at the last one. But once more I find myself asking for your blessings. The ulfheðnar will not live if we do not see to his mending, and he fought bravely against the fallen Choosers. Will you aid him?"
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies."The vampire does not have it, of that much I am sure. Neither do any members of the local Paranet. This "Bloody Mary" killer has been in the city too long for it to be him or her. The list of suspects is growing smaller, but not by much. The vampire outside may be able to help me, if I pretend to be trying to unseat his father."
Jarl sighed. "How are things back home?"

Jarl looked back at the werewolf with a grin.
"You will have your chance once you have recovered your strength."
