Gentlemen, I pleased (and slightly terrified) to announce the interlude has officially begun!

(A brief note on weapons-this is going to be a slightly lower power, less fire-happy RP than the main thread, and Scandinavia has pretty tight gun control laws. As guns are banned. Completely. This will present a problem. Monoc can supply small arms, but save your dreams of your personal gatling gun for the main thread.)
Welp, that means everyone who's a muggle/who aren't evocation-specialized are locked right out of that scenario if players start shooting at each other again. That, or creative use of thaumaturgy, but that'd require a link to your target.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.True. And given that Monoc apparently had no problems with supplying people with anti-aircraft machine guns in Las Vegas, this could mean interesting things. Then again, though, it'll be safer to assume that was a one-off thing, and that Monoc armorers are usually more discreet than that.
Really. Brownings, for all love.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three. No, I meant earlier. Although the White Court appears to be about as well-armed. I was half expecting anti-tank weapons to come out.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Let's take from the top the reasons why me and Tentacles put this in here:
1) From a pure verisimilitude perspective, this is how Scandinavia works. We explicitly said further back that this is where the story would take place, and we decided it might lend an interesting dynamic to the RP.
2) This doesn't just apply to muggles and gunslingers, the interlude is deliberately set up so that every magic character (or at least every character that leads solely towards magic without any secondary specialization of any kind, or even "hybrid characters") is going to be equally weakened by circumstance. This isn't just a case of limiting access to firearms.
3) We wanted this interlude to have a feel that's a bit closer to the pre-Changes novels in the Dresdenverse, before all the big cosmic, world-shaking stuff started happening. Small arms exist, but they're also a lot more dangerous to the enemies you'll be fighting than they would be in the main RP.
Think of it less as me shafting the gunslingers and more me scaling the power level down a crank or two. This is going to be enforced on every playable character.
EDIT: Also, Monoc isn't going to hand out assault rifles to people who technically don't work for them in a place with this strict gun control laws.

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Aye. Put that way, it does sound interesting. I'm going to continue to sit out due to college being bloody busy/tough time keeping up with posting rate, but general enforced power level sounds good.

The army is relatively small, and IIRC they keep an even tighter leash on the firearms dedicated to the military. A rifle falls out, they'll search for it.
And even then, the instant someone hears assault weapons in the middle of a city that's been hit by a terrorist attack, the cops won't take long to arrive.

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies. That's basically the blanket excuse the three new characters (you, Saint and Mage) got to justify you showing up in the first place. I covered my bases here
Lucius is in the other van with the other driver. They haven't left yet.
