I like it pretty well, mainly because it lets you group stories into series. And the people in charge answer my e-mails pretty quickly, which is nice.
Looking for some stories? There seem to be more better stories there than at FF.net, which is drenched in crap. However, that's probably because it's relatively unpopular.
It surely will get more popular, but hopefully not as much as FF.net, otherwise the quality will probably take a sharp downturn.

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.I remember it from back when I was still interested in Homestuck fanfiction, back in 2010. It was fun to browse. I came back to it a year or so later, and all of a sudden the Homestuck section was chock-full of pornography.
Annoyingly, as far as I can tell they still haven't fixed the problem where you cannot ask to exclude a particular tag. So you can't, for example, easily see a list of all stories which aren't F/F or M/M.

I've skimmed the site a little bit, due to some links over from ff.net. Everyone I've followed over from ff uses AO 3 specifically to host their porn stories they can't upload to ff, and browsing categories gave me more of the same. Since I don't write porn, I won't be getting an account there anytime soon.
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - SilaswThere's a Greasemonkey script for AO 3 called Blurb Blocker
that will hide stories containing specific terms. It's not perfect, because not everyone will tag everything properly, but you can filter out explicit stories, certain pairings, etc. There's a whitelist feature, too.
I don't use the script myself (I keep thinking, what am I missing? even though I only ever set it to filter out porn, which I'm not interested in...), but I know people who swear by it.

You're not the only one, though I've been heavily considering uploading an Avatar fanfic that I found too... different for Fanfiction.net *, and I'm considering writing a Dungeons And Dragons fanfic.
You can exclude a tag. In the "other tags" search bar, write "-[tag]" (where [tag] is obviously the tag to exclude), and nothing with that tag will show up. Works with "search within results" too, but that also works on non-tag things, which may or may not fit your preferences.

You will not go to space today. To clarify: I'm not anti-porny-fics, I'm just atrocious at writing them; large doses of Ikea Erotica apply. Since I can host everything on ff.net, which has a more visible internet footprint (and already gained me a fair number of regular readers), why move?

Think of it. If FF.Net ever collapsed for some reason or another, wouldn't you like having your stories also stored somewhere else so they can survive?
The Internet fanfiction community has grown too dependant on FF.Net, and should it ever fall, what then? Huh?

I like it. The uploading style works better than FF.net, and the note thing works well.
Also, chapter indexes, tags, etc. And a higher char count for summaries! I can actually give a longer description about what my fic is about. (Not that I'm an I Suck at Summaries person.)
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"Here's a question about it: since ff.net no longer supports uploading between it and AO 3, is there any easier way to get stuff from the former to the latter that doesn't involve cutting, pasting, and redoing formatting?
Fine, two questions: does AO 3 have any in-page text break "symbol" similar to the one ff.net uses? That's one formatting thing I really like about ff.net, but I couldn't find it in the AO 3 text editor.

If you paste the FF.net work into the AO 3 wordspace while the latter is in Rich Text mode, the formatting will be preserved. And yes, there is a line-break button. It's the single horizontal line.
This site sounds good. I'll probably join sometime soon-ish.

I haven't really seen a topic devoted to this new site that seems to be pretty popular as of late. I actually registered yesterday or so and just now have gotten to know the site, though not by much.
Basically this is to talk about the goings on of the site.
