Bringing up this example from The Lovely Bones:
- The Scrappy: Few book readers feel much sympathy for Abigail. While all the characters grieve for Susie in their own ways, Abigail's way includes cheating on her husband, abandoning her children for several years, and then coming back and trying to act like everything can be the same. Her son's "Fuck you" directed at her is very much a Take That, Scrappy! for many.
This was recently added to The New 52: Futures End:
- The Scrappy: The series solidified Brother Eye as one in the eyes of fans, due to him being a Flat Character who the story kept trying to make into a genuine threat.

Watch_Dogs 2 examples. I tried to deal with this once and then screwed up and forgot about them.
1) I want to cut Lenni due to being a Hate Sink. You are intended to despise Lenni so far as I can tell. 2) Dusan should probably be cut as well, due to his entry basically admitting he's not really hated so much as ignored.
@Anddrix
I removed it. It was removed per this thread, and someone re-added it, perhaps not knowing that it was already added.
I want to stress that Brother EYE is not a scrappy; nobody cares about it, but no one really hates it. The people who added it did so after a comic reviewer made a video on Futures End and basically just say what he said — the wider DC fanbase doesn't have any strong feelings on the character.

While this series is still ongoing and this may be a case of Americans Hate Tingle, I want to bring in someone I've notice gain a lot a hate and annoyance:
- Gundam Build Divers: Sarah, the Mysterious Waif of Team Build Divers. At least seen with Western fans, many fans cannot stand Sarah due to not actively contributing to the team at all, doing nothing but commenting on the "feelings" of Gunpla around them. Since the series drops hints that Sarah might be an AI in the same vein as Aura, this means she doesn't participate in Force Battles, contributing to her uselessness. For a hat trick, there's Riku's promise to Sarah to not use the Gundam 00 Diver's Trans-Am System until he's strong enough, which many fans feel is doing nothing but holding Riku back in his full potential, even when he wants to not use it when he's strong enough to do so.
From TheScrappy.SonicTheHedgehog:
- A rare case of an inanimate object achieving this status, the Barrel of Doom from Carnival Night Zone Act 2 created a roadblock for numerous players in The '90s, as there is no indication of the proper way of activating it: most would think to push it down by jumping on it, when in fact it required the unorthodox (for this series) button pattern of up and down. It was so infamous that Yuji Naka pubicly apologized for this poor level design choice
.
Is it even possible for inanimate objects to be The Scrappy? Besides, this would fit better under Guide Dang It!.
Frolaytia X Qwenthur of Heavy Object
These were on the Darkstalkers YMMV for games:
- One of Morrigan's special moves, Finishing Shower, is quite hated, especially in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom because it's almost impossible to combo into. That is until Marvel vs. Capcom 3 where she can combo into it, much to the delight of her fans.
- Rikuo. It usually has absolutely nothing to do with the actual character or the way he plays, but simply because he's a fishman with transformation abilities. Not helped by the fact he was the eighth opponent (the last before Huitzil and Pyron) in the original game and thus one of the hardest.
- Pat R. (creator of the Webcomic series How to Make a Sprite Comic in 8 Easy Bits
) has this to say in his review of the series:
"Apparently the last member of his disgusting aquatic race, Rikuo (Aulbath in Japan) desperately searches the world in hopes of finding a hideous mate so he can repropagate his loathsome species. Yes, I am biased."- His status as such is nodded to in the OVA, where he is utterly decimated by Pyron at the beginning of the 4th episode
, complete with receiving a wound that causes blood to come gushing out of him before being consumed in an explosion. A silhouette shot of his flesh being ripped to shreds and his skeleton disintegrating into dust is then shown.
- Pat R. (creator of the Webcomic series How to Make a Sprite Comic in 8 Easy Bits
- Tier Induced Scrappy: Part of the hatred towards Jon Talbain is because he's powerful and easy to use. Many players consider it cheesy to use him.
I believe there's a problem with Rikuo's entry, I've visited Deviant Art and I've noticed he has plenty of fanart, the most popular being favorited by 300+ people and downloaded 100 times, so he may be closer to that of a Base-Breaking Character than a straight-up Scrappy. If anyone wishes to see the page of the fanart, I can send them a link.
I've not sur eif moves(Looking at Finishing Shower) count either, but I've got no objection to cutting.
Jonny's entry might be just left as Tier-Induced Scrappy as well.
BTW: Sometime ago, there was a huge batch of unused Pokemon from GEN 2, I wonder if any of them may count, if so then it be a good thing some didn't make it into the game.

IPP Wick Check created.
Berserk Button: misusing Nightmare Fuel
I think that Scrappy Moves go under That One Attack.
EDIT: Nevermind, I misread the entry. If it's hated for being weak, I don't think we have a page for that, so it should just be cut.

Frolaytia X Qwenthur of Heavy Object
Ehhhhhh.... I'm not sure.
But look at this page: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/TheScrappy/StarFox
It's only got two examples.
Shall it be shredderd?
IPP Wick Check created.
I say cut it. None of those entries actually conclusively show that the characters are actually hated, and the first one makes the erroneous assumption that exposition fairies are always hated by the fanbase.
Frolaytia X Qwenthur of Heavy Object
What's the word on these from the Star Fox Franchise's YMMV?
- Tricky gets plenty of heat for his annoying persona and voice.
- Andrew is disliked, or at least severely ignored, for being weird-looking (thus, no fangirls), generally incompetent (like Slippy) and not really adding much to the story besides being an Andross wannabe who pathetically cries for him when defeated. This is also the case in the games proper, as Star Wolf and Andross himself barely tolerate him. Even Pigma, who is a deliberate Hate Sink, has fans that Love to Hate him, whereas Andrew is just a literal Butt-Monkey who gets no respect in and out-of-universe.
- Dash. Even Andrew is better-liked than him. Still, Dash was one of the more plot-significant characters of Command. Uncyclopedia's Star Fox article
poked fun at this by saying Dash was played by Wil Wheaton.
Dash should be commented out because his example doesn't explain why he's hated. But the other two sound valid.
Frolaytia X Qwenthur of Heavy Object
This from Jet Force Gemini's ymmv: "A lot of players really, really dislike the Tribals."
It doesn't explain why they are hated, but I do believe the game requires you to save every one of them to reach the final level, and I believe there almost 300 tribals to save, and the game expects you to clear each level with every tribal in it saved in a single run in each level, and it's possible for them to die, adding more to the frustration as you have to start the run all over.

Tricky's entry probably shouldn't use the word "heat", since it often refers to Hate Sink hate, but while extremely brief it doesn't seem incorrect.

Considering both of those are mentioned on the other page, I'd say cut it and possibly transplant some of the writeup.
Finishing Shower should be deleted. It can possibly fit under Scrappy Mechanic, but I'm not sure that covers specific moves in a fighting game, since you can usually work around those if they're annoying to use.

Check out my fanfiction!Under MLP:
- After the Season 7 finale, the Pony of Shadows began getting this, being seen as the worst two-parter Big Bad on the show. He was seen as lazy Suspiciously Similar Substitute to Nightmare Moon's shtick, yet a disappointing They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character who had nothing to do with her — Jossing the popular legend about him. He also gained Memetic Loser status for relying too heavily on Character Shilling instead of actual feats, being the only major villain to not get a Near-Villain Victory toward his goal, and turning out to be an Anti-Climax Boss. This doesn't apply to its host Stygian though; he's ironically an Ensemble Dark Horse.
They polled ahead of Sombra
(who admittedly was Rescued by his appearances after the episode in question), but that's still second worse. Least popular and disappointing, maybe, but I've never seen the Hatedom required to count as a full Scrappy. I believe Phasma was cut for this.
So i found this in Gorillaz about Murdoc.
- The Scrappy: Murdoc is commonly despised for his reprehensible treatment of 2D and overall dickish behavior. This is especially true on Tumblr; when Murdoc was sent to jail, an ad campaign popped up for freeing him out. Tumblr’s response? Set up a petition to keep him in!
He is already labelled as a Base-Breaking Character and i think if just a sector of fans hate him then that just doesn't qualify as a scrappy
Uni catIn the Web Original page of The Scrappy, someone removed the following entries in Death Battle's section:
- Their portrayal of Yang seems to have earned the ire of quite a few fans, feeling they didn't get her in-character. Her casual disregard for the well-being of others, her willingness to commit property damage, and her nonchalance towards the fact that she viciously murdered someone in cold blood over something that was her own fault might make it hard to find this incarnation of the character likable. Toph, for many of the same reasons as Yang stated above.
The editor claimed that there was no evidence of Yang's (and by extension Toph's) scrappydom, despite being listed on the DEATH BATTLE! page as scrappies for years and their characterizations in Death Battle being generally not well received by fans. They also removed any mention of Yang in the section describing characters under the "No-Limits Facility".
Were they correct for doing so, or should Yang's section be added back?

That's my concern in a nutshell, yes.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.
