- My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic: Snips and Snails gained a lot of ire early on for being dopey obnoxious Karma Houdinis in their debut episode, where they got rewarded for their stupidity while Designated Villain Trixie Lulamoon got punished too harshly. By the second and third seasons, their appearances were limited enough that their Scrappy status dwindled, and their roles in episodes like "Magic Duel" (wherein they get humiliated over the course of the episode by Trixie) were to those episodes' benefit. Snails at least gained some love from his portrayal in "Buckball Season", which finally gave him some characterization outside of an obnoxious moron. Too bad for both Snips and Snails that they still had a long way to go before they could be considered Rescued from the Scrappy Heap, but being Out of Focus beyond one or two episodes meant that they ended the series without much development and without ever escaping their Scrappy status.
- Equestria Girls:
- Flash Sentry was hated from announcement as a Love Interest for Twilight Sparkle out of Die for Our Ship and the parent series avoiding unnecessary romance. In the film proper him being a Flat Character with no meaningful plot contributions (His being Sunset Shimmer's ex-boyfriend has no bearing on either. The sub-plot of him providing evidence exonerating Twilight was so brief and tacked-on it could have been cut without changing anything) or reason for Twilight to immediately crush on him despite never showing any romantic inclinations for anyone prior did no favors. Tellingly is as the Equestria Girls series Grew the Beard, rather than fix him like Sunset, they made Flash a Butt-Monkey over and sunk his romance with Twilight while reducing his prominence. While this did improve Flash's popularity by making some fans fell bad for him and triggered his Character Development into a good-natured goofball at peace with not being a love interest by the digital shorts, it was too late/not enough to make his hate fully disappear.
Yeah, their entries admit through gritted teeth they don't actually fit the trope. Cut all three
Also, while we’re on the topic this example just says the character(s) are Annoying Younger Sibling and nothing else to Megan. Should I cut it? It’s PRETTY much a ZCE. My Little Pony 'n Friends: Molly and Danny from the original series aren't exceptionally liked by the fanbase, seen as Annoying Younger Siblings to Megan who weren't needed since Megan was good enough.
Cut those also this entry was add to the discussion section for Star Wars’ page on The Scrappy. Do you think it should be added
- Zorii Bliss is seen by many as an unnecesary and boring love interest who only seemed to exist to give Poe Dameron a love interest at the last minute to avert making the Fan-Preferred Couple Poe/Finn ship from happening and thus has lead to some accusations she was only written to avert making Poe look like gay or chaste (especially the former, as his actor Oscar Issacs campaigned heavily to make Poe gay). She's also disliked for providing and forming part of a rather divisive backstory for Poe of being a Spice Runner during his youth, which many feel it doesn't add anything to the character beyond him being familiar with a droidsmith and contradicting previous information known about the character, making Poe way too similar to Han Solo in the process.

I mean I’d argue most of The Kennedyverse Star Wars Characters are at the very least base breaking but she appears to just be a Satellite Love Interest given she is just kinda… there. SLI I would say doesn’t always equate Scrappy as proven with Flash Sentry.
I feel like most reactions to her character are ambivalence and a dislike for the role she plays in the story, but I don't think she herself is hated enough to be The Scrappy, though a better expert on the fanbase would know better.
Okay, it's been six months since Knuckles first came-out, and I want to ask- Does Wanda from that show count? Based on the online reactions I have seen, Wanda is disliked by many people, with some even compare her to some of the more infamous Sonic humans such as Elise or Chris, and I have not seen a person defending her.
Here's an entry was cut due to it breaking the No Recent Examples, Please! policy, but since it's now six months, I wonder if we can re-add the entry now.
- The Scrappy: Wanda is widely disliked due to her bullying and downright petty mistreatment of Wade for no reason given not to mention her rubbing her career at his face and even stabbing his hand with a fork in front of their mother.
My only concern is that if she was seen as intentionally annoying, as Wade doesn't seem to like her all that much, but since none of the other characters seem to mind her, I don't think that is the case.
BTW, please call me Jake.I'm unfamiliar with the work, but if it's re-added, it needs a rewrite. It's just one brief run-on sentence.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallWell, Wanda got re-added without much consensus from this thread. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought you need approval from the thread if you want to add a Scrappy entry. That being said, I feel like her entry can stay, as like I said before, I haven't seen a single person defending her. Additionally, her entry is now no longer a brief run-on sentence, as it is much more detailed. This is what her entry looks like now if you have to ask-
- The Scrappy: Wanda Wipple is a character that even the biggest supporters of this show hate, primarily due to her incessantly annoying presence marked by a grating personality and overly aggressive behavior. Her relentless bullying of her brother Wade is particularly off-putting, as she frequently belittles him without any repercussions. In a notable instance, her actions culminate in her stabbing Wade with a fork during a heated argument, an incident that occurs in front of their mother, yet she faces no consequences for her violent behavior. Moreover, Wanda's high-pitched, whiny voice adds to her irritation factor, making her scenes even more insufferable. She also displays a spiteful streak when she refuses to let Wade uncuff her, opting instead to do it herself. This petty decision reinforces her unlikable traits, leading audiences to see her as selfish and irritating rather than funny. Wanda's character is further exacerbated by her being dragged along throughout the rest of the series, such as when she joins the bowling match, forcing fans to endure her presence even longer. It doesn't help that she never goes through any meaningful development, instead making her feel like yet another forced addition that detracts from the show's focus on Knuckles. Additionally, her dismissive attitude toward the struggles of others, particularly in her interactions with Wade, reveals a lack of respect for those around her, further cementing her role as an irredeemable character. You know your character is universally loathed when even the actual villains, as well as Pistol Pete, are more charismatic than she is.
No, you've never needed approval. Valid examples are valid examples.

Oh, thanks for telling me that.

Perhaps it can be trimmed down to this?

BTW, please call me Jake.I don't think TheScrappy.Pokemon as a page is necessary anymore. The page has gotten severely gutted over the years (namely with the removal of species-based Scrappies), and doesn't have many examples as a result. Pre-existing examples can go on their respective pages (i.e. Juan on YMMV.Pokemon Ruby And Sapphire).
I believe that Princess Elise and Rachel should be cut from Sonic the Hedgehog. Both have since graduated into Base-Breaking Characters (Elise going through positive Character Perception Evolution over the years and Rachel getting Rescued from the Scrappy Heap in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022)).
I agree with cutting the Pokemon Page and Rachel (the Sonic Movies). Rachel got Rescued from the Scrappy Heap by the sequel and is more of a Base-Breaking Character as a result. Elise (Sonic 06) is the one I'm not so sure about. She may have eventually gotten Character Perception Evolution over time but she qualified as The Scrappy for over a decade and is still a Base-Breaking Character at best. We've had precedence for character still counting for those reasons (most notably the Trope Namer, Scrappy Doo himself).

Yeah pretty much. I’d honestly say even Flash Sentry is too liked by younger fans (just look at all the headcanon wikis that pair him up with Twilight) and more fits Satellite Love Interest. Same with Timber Spruce. Although I think one character that SHOULD be added is Zephyr breeze. I’ve met like a whopping total of THREE fans of his on every website I go to, everyone else (the TD included) find him insufferable and/or annoying and only exists to give a This Loser Is You message you to adults who still live with their family.
