The Last Vampire /Thirst series by Christopher Pike. Having reread it recently I was suprised by how well it actually held up and how much I actually looked upon Sita/Alisa Perne as a positive role model. I gave it to my niece to read after she got into the Twilight series. Now she says Twilight sucks and she too looked towards Sita as a role model.
If she does do Queen of the Damned, I hope she can convey to the young people the sad tale of Lestat's decline. If you're a former Anne Rice fan, Lestat is like that fun arty boy you were friends with whose mom suddenly came over all born-again and pulled him out of public school, and now whenever you see him around town it's like all the life's been torn out of him.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!I **really** want to see her reviewing Luminosity
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.Ever since the Con Bravo plans fell through and then they teased in 30 Days of Night I've wanted to see her do an actual crossover with Linkara. Maybe take a looks at American Vampire or I, Vampire
There's also "The Addiction" with Christopher Walken, "Vampire's Kiss" of course with Nicholas Cage, and, oh God, the movie is awful, but there's "Vampire in Brooklyn" with Eddie Murphy.

I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.
I remember Vampire in Brooklyn! Murphy claimed he didn't want to do it, that he was contractually obligated. He also did that thing where he plays all the different characters in makeup. "I'm so talented, I don't need anyone else. I can do a whole movie myself, because I am Eddie Murphy, God of Comedy."

Maven's Queen of the Damned Review:

"When lights out/I'm like a gremlin/Feed me hiphop and I start tremblin'"—Eric B. and RakimI see that someone had mentioned "The Hunger" (1983) before. I recently saw it and that would be an interesting review. It's not particularly good as far as vampire movies go, but like the "Queen of the Damned", it's use of music and a commericialized goth aesthetic is pretty noticeable. I mean come on, both Bauhaus and David Bowie are in it! Not to mention the controversy regarding whether it was a possible AIDS allegory. That's enough for most people to at least check it out.

"When lights out/I'm like a gremlin/Feed me hiphop and I start tremblin'"—Eric B. and RakimI updated her YMMV and the main page a bit with more recent content.
One of the things that's changed is she's gotten a wee bit more political, particularly when dealing with sex negative and more blatantly sexist portrayals of vampire fiction.
I also added a Crowning Moment of Heartwarming when her fans rallied around her post some doxing by jerks who disliked her not doing a perfect V:TM:B game.

My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.

A list of requests for vampire reviewer, "Maven of the Eventide" (is she even still doing reviews anymore?).
Inspired by this thread for the Nostalgia Critic [1]
I'll go first. I would really like to see a "Queen of the Damned Review". I'm not even an Anne Rice fan, I just really want to see her be critical about this one (I'm surprised she hasn't already).
Everything about it is so bad...er...intriguing. It's a "nu-metal"/goth vampire movie. Just the description alone is dated and pretty laughable now that it's post-early 2000s. The acting, my God, the acting is so campy. The special effects are for the most part, cheap and awful, even for 2002. The fan outrage over the casting and the adaptation itself is noteworthy. And of course, the presence of Aaliyah in her last role as the vampire queen.
Maybe it's just me, but this movie screams for a Maven take on it.
EDIT
For clarification, I meant to say that I thought that Aaliyah gave a pretty good performance considering she didn't have too much acting experience prior to it and it was a role that required quite a bit of charisma and energy. But more likely, it was the posthumous release of it that probably makes the film more intriguing than it should be.
