"Communiation is not Patrick's strong suit." Heh, no indeed. This practically guarantees her involvement, though.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history.""If you do find the one punch solution to all the worlds problems, come here with a bottle of bourbon and a big ass hamburger, and we'll do your thing instead."
That is what we call foreshadowing.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."I have a strong feeling than masked-villainous-looking-guy is Patrick in a disguise, and he's got an idea to stop Feral from going through with her plan.
Why would he care?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."I suspect the goon with the flamethrower is working for whatever group is hunting down superheroes with world-saving powers, and since Feral started using her powers to cause significant help for a lot of people, she showed up on their radar.
But yeah, unless he has some special way to get out of there, Alison has essentially no reason not to smash him into dust, especially given that she's already in a bad mood from Johnny and feeling horrid about what Feral was going through.

"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Wait, how is this Alison's agenda?
She also objected to what Feral is doing. She just used much friendlier methods to try and stop it.

"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."That's not her agenda, though. She agrees that what her friend is doing is literally the most heroic thing she's ever seen, she just doesn't want her friend to be tortured for the rest of her long life.
Quote: "I mean, you're saving people in a way that doesnt fundamentally change anything...
...I dont know what a better world will look like, but I think it starts with everybody being some kind of hero."
and later:
"But we cant just have a tiny fraction of people trying to save the world, a tiny fraction fucking it over, and everybody else just hanging out waiting to see what happens. It isn't sustainable."
She has an agenda.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."OK, so bets that the Jamaican guy was in on it...
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Alison, or the guy with the flamethrower?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Take your pick.
Well, the guy with the flamethrower ended up becoming a live version of the Kerbal Space Program, so I guess his point is somewhat moot. By the way, first we've seen that Alison is immune to fire damage.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Hell hath no fury like a superwoman whose best friend was just brutally murdered.
Of course, given that he torched the whole room and everyone in it (doctors and all), he just put the justifiable in justifiable homicide.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Her friend is fine (albeit in pain). She killed him for the doctors.
You think? I was assuming Feral was dead.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."I was also.
Burning is generally considered a way to keep a healing factor from working again.
If she has never been exposed to this much fire in her career as a superhero, I'd be shocked. She can regrow her heart and brain with no difficulty; burns aren't really going to slow her down much.
I will buy that pyro guy thought it would kill her, though.
The thing is, the operations were already pushing the limits of her healing factor, as shown by the fact that she was visibly ill. So yeah, I'd say it's highly unlikely Feral could come back from getting torched.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)
Being able to claim that a superhero trashed your vending machine would be more than worth the cost of the machine, I think.
