Remember, as Alison said, you can't pay attention to his words. He's a manipulative telepath, he'll say whatever he needs to. A few pages back, someone pointed out that he's responding to answers we can't hear (Alison's thoughts), which makes it more confusing for us.
And yes, it looks like he was trying to drive her away. How much of what he said was true is irrelevant and impossible to identify. Alison said "Fine, you want me gone? I'm gone. How long do you need?" "Two years." "Then in two years I'm coming back and arresting you. Don't be a dick in the meantime."
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Well, even taking into account that Patrick can read Allison's mind, the conversation they just had doesnt appear to make much sense. She's got angry because he questioned the sincerity of her feelings for him- but that should be impossible, because he should be able to just see how sincere her feelings were. So she accuses him of thinking she's an idiot, but he should be able to just see she isnt an idiot, and wont fall for that.
Presumably, she thinks he's doing this because he's afraid of intimacy, and a telepath being afraid of genuine emotional intimacy is pretty fucking ironic, but it still doesnt feel right.
Thing is, I cant tell if Brennan simply failed at logic in this scene, or if Patrick is deliberately flubbing it, because he's not trying to fool Alison so much as someone else (who would have to be watching or listening in somehow- is Patrick up against another telepath?).

I'm done trying to sound smart. "Clear" is the new smart.Yeah, I think if Patrick ever met another telepath, it would pretty much result into a fight to the death (though maybe through indirect measures)- the other person would be considered too dangerous to live, and worse, they'd know it.
I find it peculiar that Patrick never saw Alison's outburst coming... there must be more to this.
3DS Friend Code: 0018-0767-4231i think for him to see it coming he'd have to either know the future or her outburst would be slow building up.
the impression i got was that it was a very sudden outburst- the only reason it occured is because he bait-and-switched her, and then bam, he's been thrown backwards and she's suddenly pissed, when before she seemed hurt.
Ouch
. Well, that's one way to return a gift... the silhouette makes it difficult to see how much damage was done, so it's hard to tell if that's the reason for her dismayed expression or if it's just a matter of losing her temper.
Oh, man, that panel of him bracing himself... Like, he knew she was gonna throw it at him, but he still didn't want her to forget his gift. Ouch.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. But I'm really confused now by what goal, if any, Patrick had in mind when he called Allison over. Did he just want a chat? To go on a villain monologue?
Though I'm starting to think that Allison's question about Patrick being unable to read his own mind might indeed literally mean that Patrick doesn't know what he's thinking, he's a mere spectator to his actions. Which is difficult to visualise, but an interesting concept.
It's still consistent with Patrick wanting Allison gone for some reason. He originally refused to help her as part of the "Piss Allison off" routine- now that she's gone, it makes sense for him to keep her occupied on some side-plot, while he gets on with whatever it is that set him off in the first place.
The bugs bunny cup is just too cute. His attempting to mend it is probably symbolic of something.

I'm done trying to sound smart. "Clear" is the new smart....I believe I can touch the sky...
Meanwhile, the smell of not-burning spandex in the morning.
You try investing years of your life getting close to someone, only for that person, who knows exactly how you feel, suddenly turns on you like that. Even if Allison knows he's BS'ing her, she probably still feels betrayed.
I still think this is just a scheme on Patrick's part.
I'm done trying to sound smart. "Clear" is the new smart. The sting of defeat.
(Sorry, couldn't resist.)

This is SFP, you're going to wait awhile.
