Maybe they will do the rhodonite (ruby and pearl origin) episode they talked about doing for future but made the terrible choice of having the sunstone psa/ onion babysitting "trying to be two places at once" plot instead. I'm kind of neutral on future overall but I hate that boring slog of an episode.
see my completed Tangled (Varian) fanfic collection! https://archiveofourown.org/works/24467056/chapters/59049532I would love that. See who else the Diamonds screwed over and what the consequences are.

That episode felt so insanely out of place for the Darker and Edgier tone Future was trying to go for.
It felt like a Season 1A episode creeping in to the literal epilogue series.

something I'm wondering about when some are saying "Future's canon" do people here want it to be non canon or something like Dragon Ball was trying to do with Daima where it's post-buu saga but due to contradictions (main example: Goku apparently had Super Saiyan 4 the entire time and never used it against Beerus), it's not in the same continuity as Super?
and partly because the premise of Lars and the off colors evading the authorities and doing smuggling sounds very strange post-future and it fits more during the time of season 5? as well because people want Steven to be part of the plot of the gem lore like originally? (clarification, they wanted to explore the gem lore in Future and presumably that would have involved Steven before they wanted to focus on his character)

There's nothing wrong with the concept of the character. But the actual episode has the Gems all act like morons to progress the narrative and the character herself is zero threat and ultimately serves no greater narrative purpose. In a longer show she could have been a recurring threat or been part of a greater issue where some gems were unhappy with Era 3. But ultimately it's not time well-spent imo since the plot thread goes nowhere. Again, better than the PSA episode which is a total waste of time, but not a lot better.
Oissu!I'm expecting it to be a shorter mini series similar to Cake and Fionna. Still wondering if will be that time when they were escaping Emerald on their way back to Earth or after they all graduated from New Homeworld. The former provides a main antagonist and a goal, but limits it if they want to keep to continuity, while the latter makes it more open, but also means they need to think up a new plot for them to be doing, whether he's just bumming around, doing charity work, or maybe exploring old ruins. Maybe he just want to just travel around and it's the off-colors who have life goals he helps out with.
That's just Steven Universe again. If we're not getting a Little Homeworld spinoff they could at least do something new with Lars.
They could do show without Steven and make it just about the crystal gems. Rename it We Are The Crystal Gems. Show the gems live without Steven, Jasper coming into her own.
I say this because for a long time I have curious about one thing. Did the Crystal Gems have any human enemies? Like a Lex Luthor expy or something like that.

Honestly, I think I may want the Lars show to be short, if for no other reason than doing so would mean it will be able to finish whatever story arcs it wants to tell without the show getting cancelled abruptly right in the middle. Because in this day and age, no show is safe from abrupt cancellation.
The world is expansive enough to have an Adventure Time: Distant Lands style mini-series, where you get a smaller story to see the lives of people beyond Steven, including Lars and the Off-Colors, the Crystal Gems and New Homeworld, the Beach City residents and how they handle the influx of Gem immigrants, or Homeworld and the new political norms (like we can see how a political campaign between Zircon and Zircon went, or maybe the newest art exhibits by Blue and Yellow Pearl).
Guess we'll see if the Lars series gains traction, because it opens the doors to other projects down the line if it does.

> And has Lars’ sexuality been confirmed, just out of curiosity?
to my knowledge no
