And while sapience is obviously in doubt. even plants can be said to be sentient in a certain fashion, when you consider that certain plant processes, like the situational release of volatile compounds in response to certain stimuli (e.g. light, injury, cold), are similar to animal senses.
Hasn't there been recent studies that show that plants actually communicate with each other through pheromones? Like, the smell of cut grass is actually grass screaming in pain and warning other grass that there is something violent nearby.
"Two decades ago, while researching her doctoral thesis, ecologist Suzanne Simard discovered that trees communicate their needs and send each other nutrients via a network of latticed fungi buried in the soil — in other words, she found, they “talk” to each other"
First result on Google, trees and plants indeed have a network
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverMany of the fruits and vegetables we eat are biologically meant to be eaten (or at least the ones with seeds are) as that plant as evolved to have it's seeds spread through the digestive systems of animals. Fruits are the reproductive organs of plants (think about that next time you bite into an apple).
More generally, few plants have to be killed to be eaten, whereas few animals can recover from losing something edible.

A sing along version of Steven Universe The Movie will be shown in theaters March 23. There will be an advanced screening of a new Steven Universe Future episode.
I wonder who will be the final antagonist of the series? Will it be the Sneople? Will it be revealed that the Sneople created the Gem race?
The remaining episodes of Steven Universe Future air from March 6-27.

Hmm. I wonder. When Steven eats, does his food get a moment of newfound life before suddenly being chewed up and swallowed?
