Their relationship's fine, Connie's just been away 'cause she was getting a head start on college.
Unrelated, but I find it funny that the entirety of SU took place over two and half years, but we're just ten episodes into Future and it's almost been a full year already.
Also unrelated, but Dee Dee posted this
on her Instagram. It may or may not be related to SU, but it's happening next month.
Technically it could just be a warmer part of winter, but one still gets the feeling time is passing pretty rapidly.
Nope.
Also, just realized that Steven Universe — Sadie Killer and the Suspects has become a lot more awkward now...
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Anyone else notice Sadie is suddenly drawn with a neck in "Little Graduation"? I can't tell if it's supposed to mean something literal (like it's because she's wearing a thin shirt instead of a jacket), a deliberate design alteration, or it's just the storyboard artist drawing her for the first time.
She's probably not actually taller, though—the way she and
◊ Amethyst look
◊ compared to Steven suggests they're still the same height.
There's a pretty blatant animation/continuity error during the collapsing shield sequence: when first formed, it got everyone at the party, including a Nephrite, Lace Amethyst, Bixbite, and Ronaldo. However, Ronaldo and Bixbite are absent from the second wide shot on (when the bubble starts to contract), while Nephrite and Lace Amethyst have disappeared by the third wide shot (which is especially blatant for the latter, as she was pushing against the shield just a few seconds earlier).
Is Shep Ambiguously Brown or unambiguously African-American? They have a skin tone somewhat similar to the Pizzas and facial features that suggest the latter.

"Little Graduation" doubled-down on the idea that the audience knows every relevant thing Steven does, which makes me further think whatever is in the chest is irrelevant—though I still hope we find out what it is.
The only other option I can think of is that opening the chest didn't explain its significance (or lack thereof).

I dont like this insistence on the steven only POV. In my opinion it hinders more than it helps. Especially when its a character like steven who is passive and lacks curiosity. We know so little about earth outside of Beach City and gem places they could theoretically reveal that there is another alien race on earth, who we only didnt see so far because they avoid gems and their places.
The contents of the chest didnt seem to have had an impact at all so far and maybe stays a mystery forever. The only two ways this could change if either steven didnt understand its importance and simply put it away or he hid it and tries to ignore it because he fears that it is just another mess that his mother left for him to clean up.

I’m starting to think Connie’s absence is very much intentional. Steven must miss her since he named one of his plants after her. We also don’t know what their relationship is right now; maybe it’s a bit rocky or maybe they’re “On Break.” That would definitely be a factor in Steven’s current instability.
Edit: Page topper, Hell Yeah!
