I just kinda feel this is weird because Lars being in space IS far closer to the Status Quo for the viewers. The bakery would be a new dynamic to explore because even if it's in universe been running longer than Lars's space adventures, we've never got an episode about it.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Sadie and Lars' relationship was based on neither of them having any close friends besides Steven, so I'm not especially upset. I just wish we'd seen them together more (not necessarily romantically) between now and Lars making it back to Earth.
What surprised me is that it took Steven months to hear about that or Lars moving out.
Shep kinda looks like a NEOKOSMOS character—not surprising given Danny Cragg was still doing character designs for Future.
It's not like Lars should hesitate to casually explore space, but there's an undercurrent of him running away from his problems/feelings.

I'm starting to wonder if Steven will move out of Beach City.
RIP Larsadie.
BTW, I expected Lars would sooner or later want to go back to Outer Space.
Prettiest Meta Knight Gijinka, nglI think Lars still has feelings for Sadie, which doesn't bother me, I've had many one sided ships. Would be interested to know what Shep is like though.

Having someone completely detached from everything he's ever been through that's legally obligated not to tell anyone else seems like the only way he's gonna open up at this point.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I don’t think the episode is going to be about Steven dealing with Lars and Sadie’s relationship. That scene reads to me as set up for an overarching conflict about everyone around Steven coming to new stages in their lives and moving on to new ones, while Steven finds he has trouble wanting to do so.
It’s the capper to the running plot of Steven being rather unhealthily invested in Little Homeschool.
My guess is that immediately after we get a scene of something else that seemed comfortable in Steven’s life changing, with him unable to stop it. Like, I dunno, one of the Crystal Gems decides to take a sabbatical or something.
No worries. Just hope you feel better.

Most likely. They all have individual voice actors who were most likely unavailable.
On a different note: does Shep being voiced by a transgender actor, Indya Moore, qualify for Actor-Shared Background? Gender is usually not included in that trope (as male characters being voiced by men and females being voiced by women is seen as the default, and we have Cross-Dressing Voices for when there's a deviation from that), but a trans character being voiced by an actual trans actor is much more rare, thus possibly worth mentioning?

Lars is an Off Color too, and they're all going back into space once Rhodo, Paddy, Fluorite and the Twins graduate.
