I forgot that, because it's such a weird change—all the rest of the opening was the same as the end of the short.
Regardless, it's ridiculous to think a (standout) line in the theme song requires top billing in the credits. Pendleton Ward sings the theme song for Adventure Time, but he was only credited for voice acting when playing a character in the actual episode.
I LOVE the new Steven, to the point that he’s now in my top 3 favorite characters behind Katara and Yusuke Urameshi respectively. I just kind of have a thing for super nice characters with a darker, more angry side, hence part of the reason why Katara is my number one.
I could totally see why people would miss the old one though. He seemed to deal with his baggage in a more healthy way and he was a lot more selfless with his compassion. He obviously still cares now but he’s a lot more impatient and annoyed with life. I could see why people would find that frustrating.

What was healthy about how he did it before?
It just seemed like he was holding in his emotions, like Amethyst...but better at doing it.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. While it is true that Steven held a lot of things in as a child, he was a lot more patient with people before. Now he’s kind of raging when things get frustrating and I don’t think either one of these things are particularly healthy.
Also, Classic Steven had a much better work-life balance. I mean, I’m in my mid-20s and I (as well as a lot of my peers) can appreciate the HELL out of a snow day.
On the flip side, I really can’t blame Steven for wanting people to take him more seriously. Aside from being a young adult now who just wants more respect, he’s been dealing with adult responsibilities since he was 12 years old. Before he didn’t really have a choice but now he’s at a point in his life where he’s well-adjusted to his responsibilities. Must be nice.
Also, maybe Steven can have more fun but just with people who are more his peers and not his parents. Even Amethyst, who is basically his big sister that Steven spends a lot of time with anyway, might not really be what Steven needs to have fun.
I kind of want to see him be a teenager for once. He should see what the Cool Kids are up to. Although they’re probably grown now.
The thought that's come to me is that Steven has been trying to find, or probably re-find, that balance between helping people, which he's been known to do to his detriment, and his own desires, which Amethyst at least has regularly encouraged him to do. He'd hoped to be able to focus on himself more when the movie came around and things had gotten quiet but now he knows there's always work to be done and has to figure out how to go from there.
Steven’s growing up to be less like Greg Universe and more like Tom Scharpling.
God, and Lars owns his own business in his early twenties. Peedee’s probably still has Hot 2 Tot (and can actually drive it around). Steven’s basically a social worker...
Steven probably has trauma from how emotionally dependent people have been on him during his childhood, which probably contributes to why he's dealing with it so much worse now.
He's also a workaholic and now has enough personal agency to really throw himself into his work full time.
Not to mention, little homeschool is a really ambitious project to get off the ground in terms of how many peoples he's trying to help.
Well, we already got 3 albums and a few singles.
Anyways, a new clip
dropped from the "Little Graduation" episode. Sadie has a new partner called Shep. Shep is definitely non-binary, as they're referred to as a partner and they/them pronouns are used to refer to them. I guess Sadie is bi or pan then. They can be seen in the corner at 0:17 in the intro
.
I am so glad that SU is paving the way for NB rep. First we got Stevonnie, then we got Double Trouble on She-Ra and Wren on Middle School Moguls, and now Shep, the first full human NB character in the show.

I know being annoyed and confused is the point, but I am both of those things.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.
I think it might be like a reverse of (or at least something similar to) "Snow Day"? The Gems had to realize that Steven changed, and now Steven needs to realize that Lars and Sadie weren't going to stay the same... Still, though, I never expected they'd sink Larsadie like that, especially with some random new character. Hope they have a great personality.
Also I'm like 70% sure something bad's going to happen to the Off Colors while they're in space. Whatever happened to Emerald still hasn't been addressed yet, and with Bluebird/Aquaball out and about a highjack seems likely.
Edit: also I'm going to miss Sadie's three-toned hair. That was a look and a half.

That was in the extended version. In the regular version, that line went to Garnet.
