The fart jokes thing seems to be mostly flanderization from the mirror episode.

How? It was only in one other episode.

And it was used like a raspberry.

Exactly. It's a very minor moment that's not very representative of her personality that the fanbase nevertheless ran hog wild with. It's fanon rather than canon flanderization, but it still fits.

Like I said before, I think it would be good to wait and see what the two new Lazulis are like in order to get insight into Lapis's personality pre-mirror.

Nice use of Mickey Mousing.

Is there any word on the making-of for the movie having a digital release? It's an extra on the DVD, but I don't even have a DVD player anymore.

If this happened I can easily see why Peridot noped the fuck out when she found that Crying Breakfast Friends sticker.

[up]Ptff xD haha HAHAHAHAXD

To bring up another topic, how long did Lapis keep Jasper trapped under the ocean? Do you think it is something that should be mentioned in SU Future's Jasper's character arc?

I'd say a couple months? Like 3-4 at most.

I imagine that would covered in general whenever Malachite came up.

They fuse in "Jail Break" (last episode of Season 1) and unfuse in "Super Watermelon Island" (first episode in Season 3). So we need to look at the episodes in Season 2 that indicate passage of time to figure out how long they were fused.

Well, there's a sixteen episode gap between "Jail Break" and "Sadie's Song". Sadie's Song has Beachapalooza in it, which is either shortly before or at the start of Summer. The following episodes then take place over a three month time period since Steven turns fourteen near the end of the Cluster arc, and his birthday is on August 15th.

So that's three months we can infer. How much more beyond that depends entirely on the span of time covered by those sixteen episodes before it.

I'm more interested in knowing how much time passed between Bismuth's first episode and her second. How long did it take Steven to gather up the courage to confront her?

I don't even know its not time but context that factors into Steven deciding it right to free Bismuth, he'd certainly feel a lit less guilty about seeing her side after he realised the extent to which his mother's deception lied

It was clearly Spring by "Jail Break", so six at most.

Steven's birthday was in August, and shortly before it Garnet said she was first formed 5750 years ago. Flash-forward to the wedding, Sapphire said it 5750 years "and eight months" ago. It was late summer for all of season three, so that means about seven months.

But Pachylad is right, the time was nearly irrelevant, events were everything.

...I just realized that if the math is correct, then everything between the start of Season 3 and "Onion Gang" would have taken place during two months, so yeah the actual timeframe probably doesn't matter.

The movie was trying to be self-contained, and so was deliberately light on details of what happened during the time skip. For Future, we'll clearly have to learn a good deal more, which is new territory in that Steven already knows significantly more than the audience does.

It makes me wonder how much will be filled in second-hand versus any proper flashbacks.

You know, I think if Steven had told Bismuth that it had been 7 months since their confrontation, she would have responded with "Seven months?! That's nothing! Man, humans have a quick turnaround on this kind of thing!"

Think we'll ever hear from Pearl's pink-haired human crush, AKA "S"?

I honestly still don't want that to become a thing. While there's merit to the idea of Pearl finding a second love with a human, the human being a Rose expy rubs me the wrong way.

Wasn't it a thing that Pearl has been "playing the field" ever since she got the confidence from that one encounter?

When Pearl sent Stephen inside her head he saw she got more people's numbers...

Or it was just a background detail...

Either way, yes.

I wonder if they'll change Mystery Girl's appearance if she ever appears again. Make her less Rose-like and still have Pearl be attracted to her to show how far she's come.

Or maybe have someone altogether different and not an obvious Replacement Goldfish consistently showing up as Pearl's romantic partner.

Okay, I saw something pointed out that makes the whole Replacement Goldfish argument moot, and it's that Rose was Pearl's design.

Remember, Pearl was the one who first imagined Pink shape-shifting to look like a Quartz, Rose Quartz's appearance was Pearl's idea. That changes the context with 'S' from "She looks like Rose Quartz, Pearl must be using her as an emotional replacement" to "she looks like Rose Quartz, who is basically Pearl's OC, she's totally Pearl's type".
