[up][up]Cue a fanfic where the crystal gems discover bismuth's gem way before the events in the series, and Rose, for once, is forced to face the consequences of her actions, I don't think is gonna be THAT easy to win Garnet and Pearl's trust back.

> I'm just noticing: the dimension has its own sun◊. How the hell does that work?

Hmmm

1)As it's located in another dimension it's effectively part of another universe, on another planet altogether with it's own Sun

2)It's still in their universe somehow,on a distant world

Probably in her armory or the trash pile.
Or anywhere on Earth. (Though I don't think she'd use the armory when Pearl knows about that.) Lion's mane was just the safest, whenever it became available.

We still have essentially no idea how old Lion is except that he's older than Steven.

I got my copy of the colorized Pug Davis reprint.

Amusingly, for Lars' cameo, they colored his skin pink (I think; sort of hard to tell with the lighting) and also added in his eye scare.

It is an amusing idea that the Off Colors just casually ran into non-gem interplanetary civilizations offscreen, and Lars used the opportunity to score some booze.

Better keep one priorities' straight, even if you're sorta kinda undead and in outer space far away from your home and being pursued by evil empire generals

Is Lars even old enough to drink alcohol? I dunno, I could see both Lars and Sadie as being anywhere between 16 and 24 years old.

Is Lars even old enough to drink alcohol?
Definitely not when he was making his way back to Earth—his parents were looking over a report card less than a year before.

That's why he would go to a space bar for it.

[up]

That could be a case of him staying behind some years in his education, given how Sadie and the other "Cool Kids" don't really seem like teenagers, given the timeframe of when Sour Cream was born seems to be between 18-20 years.

May a year or two.

given how Sadie and the other "Cool Kids" don't really seem like teenagers
By the movie they're probably around twenty, but before then they were repeatedly referred to as teenagers—Lars calls himself a "teenage boy" in "Tiger Philanthropist", Sadie calls her whole band "teens" in one of their songs.

given the timeframe of when Sour Cream was born seems to be between 18-20 years.
Sour Cream is the only character besides Steven, Connie, and Greg with a specific age, though just implied by the timeline.

Sour Cream was conceived when Greg first came to Beach City, which Greg said happened when he was 22. In "Adventure in Light Distortion", Pearl said Greg would turn 110 in 70, meaning he was 40. By that point, winter had come and gone twice.

So, at the start of series, Sour Cream was 15 or 16. By the movie he's 19 or 20.

Very early Steg concept art.

The mohawk looks really cool, especially the stegosaurus tail, the mullet/pompadour in the finale design was much more appropriate—punk isn't really Greg's genre.

It just occurred to me if Rose had resurrected an elephant instead of a Lion it would have been a literal pink elephant,in one of those weird alternate universes maybe..

[up][up][up]That would justify the silly name, although I agree the pompadour fits the characters a lot better.

[up][up]Since elephants don't have massive patches of hair on their body, where would Steven enter the pocket dimension?

> where would Steven enter the pocket dimension?

That's the sort of question where you have to get creative and have something like

1)Climb on to their back achieves the same result regardless of hair

2) gets manually telported there

3)Have something like a carriage (called a howdah) on top which Steven cam climb into which leads into the dimension

Some elephants have little tufts of hair on their heads, and because elephants are so huge, that little tuft of hair would probably be the same size relative to Steven as the top portion of Lion's mane.

It's also possible a portal is always formed, hair is just where it goes for organisms that have hair.

I mean, Lion has hair everywhere, his mane is just where there's more of it.

Steven and the Dondai art. It's from "the chart", dated to 2018, which I'm guessing is some sort of pitch to the network for Future.

I've just recently realized the full implications of the Diamonds' extractions alone making (certain types of) gems: Watermelon Stevens, Pumpkin, and possibly even Lion and Lars are the closest organic equivalent to gems.

And now I'm wondering if the Cactus Steven was made by modifying some of Steven's extractions and/or how they're put in an organic lifeform (similar to how Injectors apparently mix them with other things before sticking them underground).

Art of Stevonnie for Intersexual Awareness Day, and the first look at post-Time Skip Stevonnie in general. Basically the same, though I think their hips are a little wider.

[up][up][up] So, is it possible that the portal always forms somewhere around the head/neck area, which just happens to be covered in thick hair in the case of Lion and Lars?

[up][up]Nice. I'm not intersex, but I'm a believer of self determination, and doing unnecessary operations of people without their consent is a no no. Curiously, or maybe this is just me being dumb, I used to thing it weird than when they were asked "is Stevonnie a boy or a girl?", the crewverse answered "they're an experience."; nevermind the fact one shouldn't be interested in the private parts of a fusion between two children in the first place, I just thought that they could just have said they were intersex and leave it at that. That was before jungle moon, obviously. Still, it probably shouldn't have mattered to me back then.

Nonetheless, I cannot help but think is great Rebecca keeps validating the applicability of being intersex to Stevonnie in support of this cause.
