[up][up]Considering the tons of issue Pink left behind, maybe she should said shit, like quite a few things.

If you were to poof Yellow or Blue, or even White, how big would their gems be? Would they be the same size as a typical Gem, or would they be bigger?

Also, is it a little weird that the Heaven and Earth Beetles are still called the Heaven and Earth Beetles in the movie even though they are no longer beetles?

are there any Gems or famous jewels named Heaven of Earth Beetles? becuase the only possibilities I can think are are that they named named for actual beetle gems or being nicknamed derived from an artifact.

I'd guess they're the same size relative to Pink's gemstone as their respective forms.

Especially since they were called "geode beetles" when they were corrupted. You'd figure they'd be "Heaven/Earth Geode" after being cured. (Though those names still raise questions when applies to aliens.)

They're probably a reference to engravings of scarabs.

Maybe some gems took new names after being restored to celebrate their newfound independence.

I just watched the Steven universe movie. It was full of holes but the songs were nice and the animation was cool. Spinel going with the diamonds though was a remarkably...horrible solution. I know Steven is tired of them and Spinel has issues so she has trouble with relationships, but was dumping her into an unhealthy codependency with the beings who are still struggling to view others as not beneath them and might also get bored of her really the only solution they could come up with? Also I don't understand why the word truth triggered Garnet's memories

I think "truth" is what makes Garnet come back because in Season 5 she unfused when she learned the truth about Rose Quartz, and re-fused and became who she is now when she finally accepted the truth.

I thought it was Spinel's entire spiel that made Garnet remember, not just her saying "truth".

In other news, a new game in the Light series was announced, Steven Universe: Unleash the Light! Unfortunately, it's exclusive to Apple's new Apple Arcade service. But hey, still cool! The game takes place after "Change Your Mind" but before the Time Skip if the included screenshot is anything to go by, and actually features Lapis as a playable character.

an unhealthy codependency
The concept of "codependency" (and specifically that is some kind of illness) is not based on actual psychology. Nor is liking someone because they remind you of a lost loved one necessarily unhealthy—especially when they specifically know they're their own person.

if the included screenshot is anything to go by
Where? Nevermind, the images on that page are sliding galleries.

I'm also guessing from the pause button in the corner and meter at the bottom that it's like Save the Light where it's like ATB instead of turn-based.

I know we only got a second one because they could recycle animation from the short, but it would be downright surreal if they still don't change it.

So while everyone else seems to fangasming about how (to paraphrase a YT comment) "Rebecca Sugar has her foreshadowing game so strong she has it come from another show" (i.e. how Adventure Time's "Everything Stays" is uncannily similar to Spinel's backstory), am I the only one to notice so far the parallels between Pink and Spinel and Bojack and Herb?

In the sense that one "betrayed" the other and created a huge broken pedestal, yes, but otherwise I don't think they're that similar.

Yeah, it would be weird to watch Steven Universe with the same opening as before, with everyone having pre-timeskip character designs. Ideally, a new opening would incorporate the time-skip designs and Bismuth, Peridot, and Lapis, as well as a bunch of background Gems.

"Rebecca Sugar has her foreshadowing game so strong she has it come from another show" (i.e. how Adventure Time's "Everything Stays" is uncannily similar to Spinel's backstory),
Speaking seriously, it's more precisely that she based both on the same story from when she left a plush toy in her garden as a child.

Pink and Spinel and Bojack and Herb?
Wasn't Herb the mentor in that relationship?

Ideally, a new opening would incorporate the time-skip designs and Bismuth, Peridot, and Lapis, as well as a bunch of background Gems.
Presumably there'd be a fly-through of Little Homeworld that shows all of them.

Speaking of which, I wonder if they'll reference how everyone in Beach City had to live there while it was being rebuilt.

The difference between Pink and Bojack is that Pink tries to do well, but she doesn't know how, because the Diamonds never gave her a framework in being a good person. She doesn't know how to put work into a relationship. And never really learned until she met Greg.

Meanwhile, Bojack knows why he is a piece of shit. He knows his actions hurt people. But he then tries to justify it his pain, alcohol, or drugs. Bojack refuses to get better.

More in the sense of abandonment rather than the roles the abandoner/abandonee took

The difference between Pink and Bojack is that Pink tries to do well, but she doesn't know how, because the Diamonds never gave her a framework in being a good person. She doesn't know how to put work into a relationship.
Now to be fair, replace the Diamonds with Bojack's parents and this actually kind of fits him too?

Meanwhile, Bojack knows why he is a piece of shit. He knows his actions hurt people. But he then tries to justify it his pain, alcohol, or drugs. Bojack refuses to get better.

If it hadn't been for Season 5, I'd have vehemently disagreed you but yeah... part of me thinks the writers don't really want him to have anywhere near a normal redemption arc, constantly going through temporary comebacks and relapses (unlike Pink/Rose's relatively straight one)
