Migrated to Chloe Jessica!
i appreciated that even though they still went for the "talking always works" angle, it didn't fix everything like it usually does. Spinel's feelings didn't go away, nor should they have - they were justified. Pink hurt her and she didn't deserve it.

Yeah. I'd have to watch it again to check but I'm curious if you could neatly split the movie into different episodes.

This song needs more love.
Migrated to Chloe Jessica!
shouldn't Steven, like, at least text Lars before he pops out of his head? i feel like there's some privacy issues there.
Migrated to Chloe Jessica! It does feel a little disjointed for a movie, so I can definitely see the miniseries angle, but I still loved it. Songs were all great, and Spinel is an amazing addition to the cast.
...So...what now?
Oh God! Natural light!Song time isn't reality time but I think we can assume Lars expected him since it was at a gathering.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersTook a bit to finally get to watch it, but I did and I loved it. Some things came off as a little contrived and coincidental, but the point of the movie was to be a movie, and those things were basically just nitpicking for the sake of expediency. The story still could have happened exactly the same way without those coincidences, it just would have taken longer and wouldn't have fit the plot progression.
As for favorite song, I'm still thinking, but I know the only one I rewound to listen to a second time mid-movie was Bismuth's version of "We Are the Crystal Gems". Damn, can she sing, I really felt that. Steg was great, good call-back to when fusing served a point other than violence, and I loved how inexplicably ripped he was. Spinel was adorable and her backstory, heartbreaking (pun intended).
I'm curious if season 6 is going to be set before or after the movie. The chest being open indicates there's at least one story to tell before the movie, but it would be a shame to waste Steven's older design. Personally, I think it'd be cool if season 6 did both, maybe the first half is set before the movie while the second half is set after, or maybe season 6 jumps around the timeline.

There are certainly stories to tell in dismantling the Empire, I think, but it'd also be nice to move forward, so I'd also like for them to do both somehow, if possible.

We wait in hiatus hell until CN finally decides to announce whatever the hell the crew are working on past the movie.
If you mean story-wise... Personally, I'd be fine with a lot of character-interaction based episodes. They could also explore Greg's side of the family, since they basically did 2 seasons exploring Rose's. Also, more Steven/human fusions. I really want those.

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Personally, I'm more interested in fusions with the B-Team. They could make a whole damn episode out of the drama and trepidation of Garnet helping Peridot and Lapis with both of their first times fusing. If they want to push it, they could even make it into a -vaguely alluded to- virginity metaphor, by really pushing the "first time fusing" angle. Maybe throw in a Bismuth fusion, to set another example for the two, since she's almost certainly fused before.
@Crossover-Enthusiast: The reason they're being so tight lipped is that they actually working on a sequel series/spin-off Boeven Universe starting Steven's kid Boeven.
More seriously I think it's possible we'll get a retool that will change the name as to remove one of the fundamental limitations of Steven Universe, that it's always from Steven's prospective. While it's been used to good effect, a retool away from that format could allow the crew to more easily tell stories about the past or even just away from Steven without the need to create a framing device for someone to tell it to Steven.
If it starts from her experience as PD, it could be a show about a terrible person who develops into...a terrible person partially in denial.
Rose is interesting characters.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Steven: “Should we just call in the Diamonds and have them instantly solve the plot?”
Lapis: “nooooooooo”
Seriously though Steven is trying to extricate himself from the Diamonds empty nest syndrome
And by the time things look actually fate of the world serious, it’s also been made evident that tampering with the injector is very bad and Steven started pinning his hopes on convincing Spinel. Which in fairness, is his MO. It has worked a lot in the past
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhen I first saw Spinel's design and powers I said she might have been somekind of jester for Pink Diamond, I'm surprised that I was actually kind of right.
Also, I remember everyone theorizing that Spinel was going to be one of the few SU villains to not be redeemed, ironically she ended up being one of the most sympathetic villains on this show.

Looking closely at Sadie's new hair
◊, I think she shaved or at least cut down the sides—besides the different color tone and lines, you can also see her ears now.
"She's quite possibly the most human-like of all the gems seen in the show out of the gate, but she ultimately cut all her potential short to let Steven have experience life and left a millenia old mess for others to try and piece together.
"
Kinda, Rose being Pink kinda put other thing in perpective, like Pearl love for her: is really love of her? or her conditioning as Pearl to serve a diamond still works?.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Why is she so short still?
She's an adult now, she's done all the growing she can possibly do I guess.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Sadie was probably fully grown four in-series years ago when we first saw her.
Oddly, we've seen younger versions of Buck, Jenny, Ronaldo, and Lars, but never Sadie. I'm honestly having a hard time imagining what she'd look like.
EDIT: According to the poster for the concert
◊ the movie took place on May 21st.
