Thinking about it the most likely place you could find a Gem hybrid would the Human zoo since you have Gems and humans in close proximity, and if you were building a story about the hybrid meeting Steven they wouldn't have to go to the zoo when the hybrid could take a ship and travel to Earth
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverAnother big aspect of early Lars was that he was simultaneously very needy for positive attention, very bad at actually noticing what got him positive attention, and very poor at handling positive attention when he recognized what was happening. He got very self-conscious, and that led to the behavior RedSavant described.
I think being put into a survival situation, combined with the fact that he didn't have several of the social hang-ups because Homeworld had a radically different society, helped Lars very much with the third point, which made it very easy to do the things he needed to do to resolve the first two points. To use a saying I've heard elsewhere that's hilarious in the current context, for some, pressure produces cracks; for others, pressure produces diamonds. Lars is the metaphorical latter.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I feel like he's been solidified, as Footsteps said. One awkward exchange after being gone for months isn't enough to condemn him; I'm sure he's not magically cured and he and Sadie still aren't necessarily healthy for each other, possibly even as friends, but now they both have lives outside of each other and shared apathy for the Big Donut. They're both in better places now.
It's been fun. Also, for all that Lars did have that twinge of anxiousness about Sadie's life outside of him, he didn't dwell on it long at all (the major problem mostly was when it hit). He's still probably going to backslide at points and probably have some knee-jerk poor reactions, but the important thing is that he's shown the ability to overcome that and be a better person.
Nobody is able to just overcome their negative personality traits in a snap, and everyone who is trying to overcome said traits backslides now and again. The important thing is to catch yourself before you backslide too far, and redouble your efforts to overcome it. It's early, but I think Lars can do that.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Thought this was worth shairing

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverI'm also thinking there should be just one page for all them, mostly for some background and tropes related to all of them (like the Animated Actors premise). In fact, since it's produced separately from the show, I don't think it would be under the "Recap" heading, even if it will still be linked on the recap page— Dove Self-Esteem Project x Steven Universe is what I'm thinking of.
Alright, the deed is done. Dove Self-Esteem Project x Steven Universe is the page ready for examples, but I'm not so sure about the formatting—folders and AC headers seems redundant, but I don't know else to get the neatness of folders but also link the individual shorts.
Haven't made a link on the recap page, but did list it on the page for the franchise in general.
I just stuck the page in a non-numbered space in the short's folder of the recap page.
"Inhales through teeth" was a scripted action.
I think it's "Back to the Barn", though "Logdate 7 15 2" could also be a possibility. I wonder if "inhaling through teeth in aggravation/annoyance" is a trope.
...Also someone's probably already pointed this out, but I think I just realized what the numbers stand for in Peridot's logdates. The first number is the month, second is the day, and third is the era. So 7 15 2 would be July 15th, Era 2.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢The problem is that Steven's birthday happened earlier in the bomb and is at August 15
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Nope. The beggining of the episode is where she says the log date. She specifically says it's immediately after she told YD off.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Checked the transcript. Nope. It opens with her citing the log-date as 7 15 2
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.

He was an anxious, depressed asshole who coped with his feelings of inadequacy by being a jerk to the people who tolerated him.
Now he's a space pirate.
It's been fun.
