Next up is the movie. Do we even have a release date yet? Honestly, with the way this wrapped up everything I'm fine waiting a long time. But I question how it's possible to top something like this. This episode is 44 minutes, a movie would be what, an hour at bare minimum? Probably closer to 90 minutes, which is twice as long as this. What could it possibly be about?
I always imagined that, if there ever was an Obsdian in the show, it would be a silent assassin who answers directly to the Diamonds.
Oh, and now we know for a fact that the name of a Steven/other Gem fusion has the same name as the original Rose/Gem fusion.
The movie will be fighting against the Rose Quartzes from the Zoo, fighting against their creator for bubbling them.
Interesting how Yellow Diamond was annoyed at Blue for keeping the Rose Quartzes safe in their bubbles instead of shattering them, and Change Your Mind shows that Yellow's room has many yellow bubbled gems.
-Witty line-There's an interesting implication on Yellow keeping the gem shard fusions bubbled.
While the experiments are certainly horrible, we know they come from a byproduct of gem nature. The shards are always going to be partially sentient.
Knowing Yellow's nature, one can gather that they are Yellow's attempt at finding some use for what remains after the wasteful act of shattering a gem.
And since gems inside bubbles are in stasis, you could argue that Yellow's solution is the most humane thing to do with them from their perspective.
Steven could probably help all of them the way he helped the Custer.
Loose threads. Well, there's the humans and Rose Quartzes in the zoo. We still don't know why Pearl became Pink's. If the original Pink Pearl was taken away as punishment for that incident at the ball, it seems that White would have to give up her own Pearl to Pink. That's a bit odd though. Like, you take away a Pearl, but then give her a new Pearl that, as far as the Diamonds care, is basically identical. And I don't think our Pearl had specific instructions to keep Pink "in line," because she failed at that super hard. Then there's that chest in Lion's mane that I feel was put there specifically in case they made it to this finale and were asked to make more seasons.

I did find White's talk to Steven interesting. While playing her mind games, and belittling Pink, all while saying she doesn't need her (or I assume Yellow and Blue, either) she was still so steadfast in trying to get her to admit who she really was.
What was the point of keeping them around if they were just "impurities" she needed to expunge, especially Pink?
I'm starting to get some parallels between CG Pearl and White Diamond. Obviously both are white with a forehead gem, both are motherly acting to Pink Diamond/Steven and both have the least known background compared to their group.
But also:
They are obsessed with perfection/symmetry/order,
They include all colors (White is the combination of colors, Pearl worn all colors under Pink originally).
Two different characters (Amethyst and Blue Diamond) mentioned how they used to be/have more fun before they changed.
They can extend themselves (White takes over other gems and acts through them, Pearl creates holograms of herself).
Both desired Pink/Rose to come back at the expense of Steven and planned on removing his gem (even in similar positions). Of course, one actually did it.

Joe Johnston has some other answers as well:
- He just flat-out says Rose's "that's me, loving you and loving being you" line was a metaphor.
I'm not sure "metaphor" is the best way to describe it, even though Rose is dead (or no longer "exist[s]" in Rose's own words).
- The giant in the play was the original Obsidian.
- The cog-like gems weren't left out of the credits, they are also Jades.
- He cried at least once while working on this episode.
- If you replace Steven or Rose in their fusions with a real Rose Quartz, the fusion would be the same kind of gem, just different looking.
- Tomorrow's podcast will cover pronouns for the newly shown fusions.
- White Diamond usually stayed perfectly still because "Cause she looks fabulous."
(It's unclear if he means there's no in-series reason, or that is her in-character reasoning.)
- White's clothes looked a little different than her initial appearance, but that's just the animation, not an in-universe change.
- Rebecca Sugar "rough" boarded Steven's halves, James Baxter worked off that, and his animation came back before the storyboard was finished.
- The "April 2017" post was a typo. He meant "April 2018".
Judging from that timeline, I would guess Cartoon Network gave them quite a bit of extra time to work on parts of this season.
Steven Universe (Season Finale): 989,000 (0.30) Viewers!
Yes, I know CN doesnt rely on Nielsen Ratings anymore, but this is fucking HUGE! This is almost 1 million. I know it will get bigger if the writers play their cards right!
And yes, I know. The APP! But this combined with the App (Which I know is how most kids watched it) should make CN Execs go bonkers with happiness.
As long as this flower is in my heart. My Strength will flow without end.Subconsciously, she's also doing what she accused Steven and Rose of: surrounding herself with those she considers inferiors so she'll feel better about herself.
It seems like, in-universe, the more synchronized and stable a fusion is, the more their personalities and voices fuse into one. All two-gem fusions between the Crystal Gems have a single personality and voice, as well as all three-gem fusions involving Garnet. Not sure how three-gem fusions not involving Garnet would work out, and Alexandrite and Obsidian are four and five gem fusions without unique voices.
This obviously means that Fluorite, as a six-gem fusion with her own voice and personality, is the purest and most synchronized force of fused love in all the universe.
Alexandrite does have a voice actress of her own. She only speaks with her components Gems when she's falling apart, IIRC.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.

And if any rogue one shows up, they got the fountain and the Diamonds will listen to Steven now, so they can help them anyway.
