@thatother1dude: Yeah, I was expecting they'd at least let us get our hopes up, and to some extent Blue Diamond is probably a lot more accommodating of Steven than she was with Pink. Still I definitely think the door is still open in the long run for Blue and Yellow to be redeemed; it won't be easy, but they directly confirmed that the chromatic Diamonds' are to White Diamond as ordinary gems are to the Diamonds.
Thus it's unthinkable for them to disobey White Diamond as it was for Peridot to disobey Yellow Diamond at first. The idea that maybe they don't have to exist solely to serve White makes a natural jumping off point for getting them to empathize more with their subjects.

I have no idea who they're going to call. Lars is a good guess, but I could see basically anyone, up to and including Yellow and/or Blue if White goes absolutely ballistic and starts trashing the entire planet like I think she might. We already know that Steven's going back to Earth after this, and I have a hard time believing he'd be able to get away with that for long without at least one of the other Diamonds covering for him.

Sugar said on a recent podcast that Homeworld disallows even same-type fusion if the components are significantly different-looking.
Presumably that includes the Jades, because they and their fusion are very different looking—to the point I wonder if "Jade" is a category of gem, like Quartz and Garnet. (I mean this is putting asides it only being allowed to fight, whereas they don't seem like fighters.)
I'm growing more and more sympathetic to Pink, and her sheer impotence before her sisters and Mother. But does White have limitations?
"What is fun?" Baby don't hurt me...

Well whatever happened it was heinous enough in their eyes that she was replaced
The real question is whether White is possessing her as a puppet or a host,if she's possessed I expect to see jokes of "The power of Christ Pink Diamond compels you!" if Steven attempts her heal her
@Oruka: Speaking of FMA, I’m fully on board the theory that White Diamond created the Chromatic Diamonds as part of a process of discarding her emotions to become “pure”.
It still seems very likely Blue and Yellow will be redeemed eventually; part of the takeaway from this episode seems to be that the buck stops with White Diamond. There’s no pretense of her being being a first among equals; all of Gemkind including the other Diamonds exist solely to serve her and glorify her and spread her “perfection” across the universe. I think Steven will inspire all of Homeworld to stand up to White Diamond, including eventually even Blue and Yellow.

@Oruka: Amusingly, what could be considered a really early version of White Diamond (the Crystal Gems' creator and eventual antagonist) actually was just called "the Mother".
@Captain Capsase: I could potentially see White's reaction as "Fusion ruins everything, I need to restart this empire (again?) without it", but wouldn't quite bet on something that extreme.
Speaking of which, you think White will try to killing Connie to repeat history, or more or less ignore her and focus on punishing Steven?
I'm surprised how quickly the show creators confirmed the theory that White Pearl was actually Pink Pearl. Usually theories like that hang around for months. Of course, now that strengthens the idea that CG Pearl was White Pearl.
Its interesting how even being shattered, the pieces still maintain some amount of self. Here we have White's Pearl with an intacted gem but apparently no mind of her own. Perhaps White cleansed her of an identify and now she is an extension of White, just a voice coming from a statue, which is why her cracks don't heal.

-Witty line-And meanwhile now there are people surprised/angry about how the Diamonds are behaving because it makes it harder for them to sympathize with or something.
Because apparently a lot of people don't understand that humanizing a character isn't the same thing as whitewashing who they actually are.
Seen some people blaming Connie now.
"If you didn't goad Steven into dancing, the ball would have gone off fine and everything would be ok."
Personally, I think SOMETHING was going to happen, Steven and the Diamonds are just too different and there's a literal millenia of Values Dissonance Steven can't possibly adapt to in such a short time. So it's unfair to blame Connie.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersSteven and Connie should've considered they'd accidentally fuse while dancing. It happened before, twice.
But it's mostly a moot point. This extreme of a reaction was inevitable as soon as any of them did or asked for something that seriously challenged the status quo.
Yellow and Blue are still expecting him to get Pink's memories back somehow, suggesting they've been so cooperative because they think every can go back to how it was.
