I've watched the show since it premiered, but had been avoiding all the promos and it was years until I saw the pilot.

I was excited for the show from its announcement and I loved the pilot. I remember being disappointed by the changing art style from pilot to series but boy does THAT seem hilarious in hindsight.

I didn't get into Steven Universe until a couple years ago. If I had to say anything in particular got me looking, it was seeing a clip of the "Stronger Than You" song.

I started on the show when they introduced Bismuth, but there was a clip I saw of Peridot trying to flush herself down the toilet which made me laugh enough to at least consider the show

It looks as if Steven Universe really did have some sort of major production break: Three of the show's storyboard artist (Jeff Liu, Lamar Abrams, and Amber Cragg) each co-boarded an episode of Craig of the Creek, and another (Katie Mitroff) boarded an episode of We Bare Bears.

This most likely contributed to the slowed release of episodes for the last year-and-a-half, though how much depends on how long it was.

What is the longest time between the airings of two episodes?

"Lars' Head" and "Dewey Wins": 200 days (165 counting VOD premiers)

Note that production for the movie started somewhere inbetween (as they said it was a year into development when it was announced at Comic-Con last July).

Back to remembering weird things: So apparently, Amethyst found a human corpse and kept it as a souvenir?

My first interaction with SU was I think seeing the music performance between Greg and Rose where Pearl fuses with her.

I thought the show was like Jem & The Holograms and would be about an alien 80s hair metal band or something.

I think it was a gas mask, which happened to still have a skull in it. "There's a prize inside!"

Both were in Amethyst's room. If she didn't put it there, how else would it have gotten there?

Her glib attitude doesn't make her sound averse to Grave Robbing.

My first experience with the show was seeing some Frybo gifs. He's still the most vivid memory I have of it.

The legend has returned.

[up]x5 That reminds me: A few years back, around 2006, there was almost a Thundercats reboot where the main characters were a rock band. They found the Sword of Omens and used it to transform from kids into assorted cat-people. Snarf was a mystic with psychic powers who acted as the team's wise mentor.

I know there was, at the very least, a planned Thundercats reboot in the style of Teen Titans Go!

More shows should be about bands saving the day with the power of rock.

I hope that's the next big trend.

I would have liked the show to have made it as far as a pilot so we can see it in action. I mean, it's still a terrible idea for a Thundercats reboot, but it's just so fascinating.

I didn't pay Steven Universe much mind when it came out but after seeing a few clips and songs on You Tube as well as seeing some stuff on it on this very site I decided to check it out and I've been a fan ever since.

[up] Seconded, hell if they kept the premise and changed the names and character designs it could've made an enjoyably campy show.

A Brazilian stream suggests we might be getting new episodes soon - or at least, some form of new SU content.

Shouldn’t that be in the leak thread? You linked the leak subreddit.

Not that there’s a problem with vaguely alluding to it here.

It's from the leak subreddit, but isn't a leak in itself, just CN Brazil doing an SU stream. It also just turned out to be a recap for Season 1, with streams for the other seasons coming later.

While I'm bringing up old stuff, anyone remember that time when Rose was Milhouse?
