Oh yeah, I've definitely been wondering about a similarity between White and Ragyo for quite some time. (and uh, may have wasted some time with this today: http://youtubedoubler.com/?video1=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D7dYbnW6QuIQ&start1=100&video2=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D741MH71pov4&start2=57&authorName=Fashion+Diamond )

Also, I guess the Diamonds managed to get in contact with Homeworld before actually returning to inform everyone of the news of "Pink's survival"?

If they could do that, you'd think they could also have rescue ships sent, but I guess taking Pink's was faster.

Well, either that or it's just credence to White being able to spy on them somehow.

I'm pretty sure they assumed Pink was coming because they saw the pink legship. That's what Yellow implied before getting there.

What people are confused about is why White immediately picked Steven out for being Pink without him saying he was, when Yellow and Blue couldn't when they saw him the first time.

Why are we talking about White Diamond?

Did new episodes come out?

[up][up] Hoo boy where have you been?

Uh, anyway, yeah, there is a new episode, "Legs From Here to Homeworld". It's on the CN app and their website, and I'd suggest watching it before continuing reading the thread.

Well, whatever is up with White apparently undoing the corruption is going to take all four of them, so I assume they'll get her on boards somehow.

Seems like it was planned, but if WD was the first, and initially only, how would she think to plan that?
White Diamond being older than Blue or Yellow doesn't mean her current resident/ship is. Even if it were, she could have planned the other diamond's creation far in advanced, or modified the ship to be that way.

I at the very least didn't expect them to let the Crystal Gems come with them to Homeworld without, like, trying to imprison them or something.
The Crystal Gems are incredibly outnumbered, and willing, publicly walking into enemy territory. What would they expect them to do?

Also, although I guess it makes sense, I guess it's good to know that Blue and Yellow at least tried to get their own Gems off planet, and interesting in at least attempting to undo it to "adequate" Gems.

I didn't like this episode.

I know forgiveness is a big theme but these two are galactic tyrants who have hollowed out entire worlds. Depicting them as the wacky semi-bitchy aunts to Steven is weird, to say the least.

The forgiveness seems to be entirely on the Diamonds' end, though. Steven's whole thing has been calling them out on corruption, declaring they should fix it since they're the ones who did it.

And as has been said before, they're not in position to make the Diamonds do anything. It would be stupid to act as if they were.

Well, they think there's a way to semi get PD back...kind of. They mostly wanted to revenge her.

If this was another show, I'd worry that White would kill Steven by ripping out his gem. As is I'm not too worried.

I think applying any concept of "forgiveness" to this episode is wrong. Blue and Yellow haven't been absolved of anything, they're just cooperating for now to humor "Pink". There's no indication that the show itself thinks they aren't responsible for being genocidal despots or that anyone in the show has let that go.

Corruption:

BD: How did you survive the attack that was suppose to destroy all rebellious gems.

Corruption:

YD: Pink, how many perfectly good gems did you have us ruin?

This seems like a joke.

Steven didn't even really answer the question either. What they should have asked after that is "okay, but why aren't you messed up like them then?". But he didn't really give them a chance I guess.

And yeah, the whole episode nags at them for being shatterers and causing all the corrupted gems. Steven just kind of whined at them into trying to make up for it.

I just rewatched the part with White Pearl, and I just realized why she sounds unnerving. She sounds like a recording. When she first says Pink Diamond, it sounds like one of those "insert name here" robo-calls.

So, hasn't anybody come to the conclusion that, maybe, White Pearl's gem used to be her eye?

[up] - Some people have, but then you have to wonder about what seems to be her gem on her chest, or something.

Blue and Yellow Diamond might be like Gen 2 versions of White, who is Gen 1...

And Pink is like Gen 3?

Diamond Origins are soo mysterious and important!

But likely aren't like using a whole planet to form a single gem?

Wonder who's bubbled in the room Steven's last seen in.

Maybe a Homeworld version of the Crystal Gem temple will be seen?

Wonder if Temple doors are keyed to gem types, or specific gems...
