To be honest, I was alittle annoyed at Connie's parents in letting her go. They went from over-controlling and micromanaging to the point of using an abacus to 'sure, head to another enemy planet, 'ts cool.' I know they want to be less helicopter parents to her, but that just swung in the complete other direction. Her going would have made more sense if Yellow and Blue were in a hurry and Connie accidentally was taken with the group.

I agree. Homeworld is a complete unknown, presumably has nothing to keep organic life forms alive, and Connie doesn't even have Pink's sword anymore. No sane parents should be okay with having their young teenager going somewhere like that, especially not after two giant women came in arm ships and caused all sorts of chaos.

[up][up] Well as she says it’s a diplomatic mission to try and convince White Diamond to undo corruption.

Cats find their own food usually when they hunt.

Also

Remember those shattering drones?White probably sees through them if she's plugged into Homeworld's computers, not so sure about spy pearls though but it would explain why the Diamonds left them behind if they thought it could alert White

Alternatively White Diamond might have the same mental possession powers as Pink/Steven, enabling her to see through the eyes of ‘’any’’ Gem, and assume direct control of them if she sees fit.

And unlike Steven she apparently doesn't have to be asleep / unconscious to do it. If her Pearl was an instance of that.

I don't think she has any idea what is going to happen on Homeworld to any of them

Of course she doesn't. They've made a point about her future vision being on the fritz, and even aside from that, why would she have a read on a situation like this?

Not that "Steven will be fine." isn't a bit worry for the rest of them, but I don't think you should read any foreshadowing into besides "Garnet thinks they won't hurt Steven because he's a Diamond/We will keep him safe."

Re: Connie's parents, it's not like them letting her participate in any of this has ever made sense. It's just one of those things to take in stride about the Steven Universe world.

I think that the White Diamond we saw isn't really the true White Diamond.

She looks so unnatural that maybe her real self is somewhere else.

Also, I guess the Diamonds managed to get in contact with Homeworld before actually returning to inform everyone of the news of "Pink's survival"?

If they could do that, you'd think they could also have rescue ships sent, but I guess taking Pink's was faster.

Well, either that or it's just credence to White being able to spy on them somehow.

[up][up]That link also has a comment comparing WD to Norma Desmond and that was what I had in mind when I felt WD gave off White-Dwarf Starlet vibes. WD and WP appear unchanging, lack general movement, stay frozen in one pose, stuck in one mindset. WD dismisses Pink's actions, doesn't ask why she did it and pretends everything is back to how it was. Also, Homeworld has lacking resources, can't keep up gem quality but continues to pop them out as they used to.

White might be an allegory of being stuck in the past. Like her own body, her decisions don't move, they stay where she is and she treats that as reality. Homeworld may be decaying because she does not adapt and move forward, which is probably why Yellow was annoyed at Blue for Blue wallowing for Pink on the Zoo: Yellow doesn't want Blue to be like White.

I'm willing to bet that White was the one who told Yellow that the Cluster was bubbled and was the one who told everyone that Pink was coming home. She may be able to see the future, or may experience time non-linearly.

That assumes Yellow knew the Cluster was bubbled. We haven't seen any indication of that.

Did anyone else get Ragyo Kiryuin vibes from her? Yeesh.

Which make it a little disappointing if her leitmotif doesn't end up sounding like Blumenkranz tongue

More seriously the Ragyo simulates are interesting considering that Ragyo herself was a (human) agent of another species of aliens themed around wearable inanimate objects with designs on earth that would be bad for both the planet the organic life on it.

Ragyo is a good comparison. Another comparison I saw that I thought was good was the Other Mother from Coraline. A "motherly" character that low-key (at least at first) oozes condescension, eeriness, and menace.

...it says a lot about the Other Mother when you can make an unrelated toyline look like Creepy Dolls and Ragyo look less creepy in comparison.
