You really think someone would do that, just go on the internet and tell lies?
I'll ask them for screenshot proof hold on
edit:if it turns out they were lying I shall be so embarrassed, but like it sounded so convincing

Of course it wouldn't change anything, or really be that significant.
Rose and Steven are mother and son, and Steven told Yellow and Diamond "We're family." Outside of that, Amethyst is the only one who's applied familial terms to gems. She's the one who called Jasper "sis" and the other quartzes at the Zoo the "Famethyst".

Someone may have already brought this up, but this one line in "It's Over, Isn't it?"
, was another hint in retrospect.
I would say Steven and Amethyst are half Siblings as they both share the same 'mom' but only Steven has a father in the equation
The Famethyst are Amethyst's full on siblings though as they all came from the Prime Kindergarten, which makes the Famethyst Steven's half siblings like Amethyst

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Re: quiz: I guess part of my shock at getting Sugilite is that the only thing I see having in common with her is a poor temper. And honestly, if they were going to match me up with someone based on that aspect of my personality, I would have thought Jasper would have been more likely. There are definitely gems that I think I end up being more alike to - even Pearl.
As for the "how well you match up with each aspect" thing, I think this quiz uses fusions for that purpose - if I were to guess, the quiz probably thinks that I'm equally alike both Garnet and Amethyst, so it shunted me into Sugilite. Which is weird because, for all that I do like Garnet, I don't think I have much in common with her at all. I can see Amethyst a little more, but not much. Relatedly, I bet someone who manages to pull off being dead level with Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl will manage to pull Alexandrite.
As for familial relations... I kinda wonder how much most gems would even have a concept of the idea. The main Crystal Gems sure would, between the amount of time they've spent in/near human civilization as well as their time raising Steven (Amethyst most strongly for several reasons). And based on how they've acted (particularly regarding Pink), I bet Blue and Yellow Diamond have some concept of it, even if it's taken through a prism of Blue-and-Orange Morality (I could see them accepting Steven as family, but I'm not so sure about anyone that isn't at least part-Diamond). While I wouldn't be surprised if it's roughly on the radar of Bismuth, Peridot, and Lapis, I'm not sure just how much they can wrap their brains around it as yet (I'd bet Bis would be curious and know it's a thing but not quite get it yet; Peri and Lapis would depend mostly on how much they could connect the concept to "Camp Pining Hearts"). Anyone else? Well, given how Aquamarine acted back in "Are You My Dad?", I think it's reasonable to think that quite a few gems would not be able to wrap their brains around familial units at the moment at all.
On the flip side, given that their duties are basically "care for humans in captivity," if there's any group Homeworld gems that would get families, it'd be the Famethyst.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Use to be a matter of formality and settling inheritance (legitimate children got more, illegitimate half-siblings got, well, half), and you could say it's good to know for medical history and stuff.
None of this actually matters for Steven or Amethyst though because there's no actual shared genetics of DNA involved, we're just talking spiritually.
Had scary thought about what work Lapis was doing on the planet during the period when she was 'just visiting' ,supposing they used her terrforming abilities to dig out the space needed for the cluster (they wouldn't have told her what the space was for just that it needed digging) and afterwards she was poofed so there wouldn't be witnesses, but the proceeding attack by the rebels means she gets captured and interrogated by her own side who have no idea she was even doing on the planet
The only evidence I have this is that in the flashback where's she poofed it looks like the Prime/Beta Kindergarten
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverHuh... so you think Lapis was deliberately placed where she could get poofed in a You Have Outlived Your Usefulness moment? Hrm... I'm going to lean towards "no" for a few reasons.
First and foremost, simply on a practical level, I don't think Lapis would have been useful for the variety of terraforming needed to implant The Cluster. Temperatures below the lithosphere of the Earth are absurdly hot (the coolest I can see record of is 500 degrees Celsius), so there wouldn't be any water for Lapis to work with. If she had terrakinesis, I could see it, but I don't think hydrokinesis would have helped much (and if she did have terrakinesis, I think she would have used it before now).
Second, up until now, it seems like Homeworld loyalists have been pretty neutral-to-positive on The Cluster. Take Peridot for example - she didn't develop any problems with The Cluster until it became apparent that it was a threat to her continued existence. Homeworld gems wouldn't have seen any need to neutralize someone who knew about it because they were all on-board with it (again, go back to Peri - Yellow Diamond was fully expecting her to come back and keep working right up until Peri famously talked back to YD). I think, if she had known about The Cluster, that Lapis would have just been evacuated and just said "whatever, what's next to terraform?"
Third, who would have even given such an order? As established above, the Diamonds surely wouldn't have - they didn't care who among their loyalists knew about The Cluster or anything related to it. We still have no indication that there was anyone other than Blue Diamond directly above Lapis. I mean, I could theoretically see the possibility that there was someone (maybe an Agate similar to Holly Blue) who had a grudge against Lapis who set Lapis up for petty reasons, but that's conjuring a character from whole cloth that we have no reason to suspect exists.
I guess it's not totally implausible, as I clearly can conjure a circumstance that works with canon in which it happens, but it seems too contrived (plus, completely tangential to the arc of the show) for it to be shown.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I don't think Lapis was deliberately placed on the Earth,no,more likely this hypothetical they took advantage of the terraformer who could move a load of Earth with her giant watery hand,as for how when there's no water about, well she can fly, find source of water, summon giant hand, dig into Earth and remove soil, rinse repeat
Alternately they could have just used hands ships like we saw the Diamonds using their Armships for
As poofing her away so she's not a witness, yeah,it doesn't make a lot of sense for their side, but what about Crystal Gems?,they had no idea about the cluster project,if they feared her being captured during the attack could expose their operations when they interrogate her poofing her away makes a little more sense
Anyway,it just an idle thought I had while I was working outside in the hot sun,my brain is fried.

I'd figure myself as somewhere between Garnet and Lapis.
