She kind of doomed all of her friends by "taking" Bismuth's advice as she put it about shattering a Diamond.
@thatother1dude: My issue was always less with escalation and more, if we go off of human examples, the no-holds barred class warfare Bismuth wanted are highly prone to going Full-Circle Revolution. If she had her way and somehow won, I feel like it wouldn't have been long before gems were being sent off to gulags penal colonies under suspicion of harboring counterevolutionary sympathies. (recall how Bismuth's arsenal of shapeshifter weapons includes a hammer and a sickle.)

Too predictable IMO, I'd be rather annoying if they did that. That bit might also be a Red Herring, since it seems like there's quite a few unfilled spaces on the bingo card this time that have little to no chance of coming to pass, ie Ruby moving in with Greg; I'm hoping CN learned their lesson from last time and threw some of those in.

Oh, wait you mean Bismuth. Yikes.
I don't think Pearl and Garnet would have let it go that far. They probably would have reacted similarly to Rose. Or rather how they did when Steven told them about the breaking point.
And I think Bismuth might be more analogous to anarchists like in the failed assassination during the homestead strike, than a Stalinist revolutionary.

If Bismuth and a presumed cadre of like minded crystal gems actually seized control of Homeworld and shattered the Diamonds, there would be a significant risk of the same sort of desperate and chaotic power vacuums that tends to produce the sort of revolutionary terror I'm alluding to. The most difficult question for any revolutionary who ends up winning is And Then What? It's not without reason that the answer frequently ends up looking eerily similar to the previous regime.
Whether or not Bismuth would approve of or initiate those policies herself (it would almost certainly prompt a Heel Realization much like the fact that the Diamonds retailated to Pink's apparent shattered by unleashing a nuclear option seems to have done in the actual show), things would probably have gotten a bit out of hand by that point.
Now as far as possible character deaths, I have my suspicions which I've elaborated on in the leaks and spoilers thread.

That was a nice episode that ended on a heartwarming moment before everything goes to hell tomorrow.
Reunited could be referring to many things. Garnet is the obvious, but maybe it could be referring to Lars coming back, Lapis returning to Peridot, the Diamonds discovering Pink or Peridot getting her limb enhancers back.
Or not a physical reunited but a mindset, like the Crystal Gems are reborn and reunited in their pledge to save the earth.
Or it could be a townie fillerish episode, whichever.
-Witty line-Given the extremely rapid pace at which the show seems to be wrapping up plot threads, is anyone else getting slightly concerned that they're going to keep this up and basically resolve the central plot in season 5, leaving season 6 as a post-script season due to an unexpected renewal of the show?

I think the show could potentially overstay it's welcome, but I don't think this show will get to the point of being a franchise zombie like some other shows.

A par of 22 minute episodes in addition the 22 minutes of reunited might be able to if they put the pedal to the metal because CN left them hanging about whether they were getting renewed or not until they were already committed to their scripts.

This was one of the better episodes for sure. It has it's points of being both adorable and solemn. And it's made me look forward to the wedding, and forget that trailer's already spoiled for me that it's going to be crashed. That's pretty effective I'd say!
I feel like I'd normally think Bismuth accepted things way too fast. But I guess her reaction to Biggs, and both of her talks with Steven sold me on it. They packed a lot in 11 minutes and still managed to have multiple scenes where they just slowly talk things out, and it didn't feel rushed.

I mean Suppose the Diamonds know that Pink Diamond became Rose who became Steven. I doubt that they would be easily persuaded to undo the Corruption and the Zoo, especially considering that they might still hold the opinion that "Pink" is still Just a Kid (which is made harder both by the scale of a Gem's life span and Steven's biological age.) If anything they might want to kidnap him again in a bid to resurrect Pink.
Other currently unresolved subplots include The Off-Colors quest for Earth, and who is White Diamond, and possibly the Ruby squad and Lapis.
It is possible that some of those subplots would conclude during Reunited and the remaining episodes, but there is still enough potential material for a Sixth season.

Yellow might flat out try to tear Steven's gem out of his body, while Blue would try to kidnap him to preserve what's left of Pink Diamond.

I'm somewhat worried the White Diamond question may end up having a bit of a cop out in the form of her being a Dark Lord on Life Support who turns out to be Good All Along, providing a convenient way to sidestep Homeworld's Dypstoian society and the herculian effort that would be required to institute some kind of reforms; "the rightful King returns" is a popular way of defusing the Evil Empire without having to deal with the fallout of the Empire's collapse or the difficulties of reforming its institutions. I'd like to think Steven Universe is better than that, and it generally is, but it's really hard to explain White Diamond never even being mentioned without her being a fusion (which makes even less sense) or somehow being incapacitated.

I also wanna see if Sadie Killer and the Suspects make it big. And how Sadie and Pars reconcile their separate character growths.
Dang, now that I think about it, it really feels like most of Beach City residents are near the end of their character arcs.
Well, save for Mr Smiley, but I feel like his arc never got off the ground.

Given how big just her hands are she'd more likely just smoosh the poor kid than rip his gem out.

That most of the Beach City residents (and most of the characters really) have their character arcs essentially complete is another reason it feels like they were expecting the show to end on season 5 and wrote it accordingly.
The whole bomb has a feeling of finality even though we know the show isn't ending, hence my concerns about season 6. A Post-Script Season or Tone Shift wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing; with characters more or less wrapped up they could try something different focus on the setting over characters as is typical in the science fiction genre without the usual problem of the characters tending being kind of two-dimensional from a lack of focus on their issues, but that might also kind of undermine what makes the show special.
They could also introduce a new conflict and new characters along with it, ie the Gem's (currently hypothetical) creators returning and looking for a fight, and Steven trying his darndest to replicate the Golden Ending of the Quarian-Geth conflict from Mass Effect, but that would require multiple seasons to fully flesh out in the series' proper fashion, which I somewhat doubt they're going to get.

They will formerly mention White Diamond and Steven will ask the group why no one ever talked about her. Then Pearl will drop the Wham Line: 'But Steven, we mentioned her from the start. You may be more familiar with her current name: Homeworld.' Then a shot of Homeworld revealing White Diamond being the actual planet. End of season.

Every episode makes me feel a little more sorry for Rose. Even Steven is ragging on her now.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
