Sorry for double posting, but even CN isn't trying to hide it at this point.

I love how about this time last year we all thought Season 5 was gonna be the last one because some of the boarders were leaving, and now we have all but official confirmation that Season 6 is happening.

Ruby and Sapphire are depicted as almost unable to function without each other and unable to concentrate on anything but one another when they're unfused. Maybe not a huge problem when they spend most of their time as one being anyway, but it's not a dynamic I think would be very healthy in a real-life relationship.
The first time we saw them separate they were captured and separated. I think people are kind of twisting an understandable reaction as withdrawal symptoms, and that's coloring how they see them elsewhere. All the other times we've seen them separate it's been pretty normal couples fighting stuff.

I mean, in "Hit the Diamond" they put everyone in jeopardy because they literally could not resist the urge to refuse.

I figured they acted that way because they didn't see the rubies as a threat, they had no problem being serious during the zoo heist as it was a matter of life and death.

Them flirting was, but I think the fusing was unintentional like when Connie and Steven fused the first time.

Whether they fused or not, rushing towards each other like they for hugging and kissing still would have raised flags.

Though I wouldn't be surprised that fusion has become such a norm for them that unless they constantly thinking of why they did it, they just sort of automatically fuse again when they touch each other or something.

The Rubies themselves weren't a huge threat, but the possibility of them informing Homeworld and bringing in the big guns (which kind of did happen) was always there.

[up]Which is funny. The C Gs did everything they could to hide themselves, block Homeworld from getting information and stopping them from coming back, and then Blue Diamond just pops in randomly without them knowing, and could have done this many times. They were 'We can't let Homeworld know' and Homeworld is 'No, we always knew. We just didn't care.'

Essentially, it made the crystal gems' worrying pointless in the end.

Well because of the Cluster there was no reason to worry about a few stragglers

Until it happened that one of those stragglers was Rose Quartz

[up][up] The Crystal Gems also didn't account for Homeworld having FTL technology which they likely didn't have during the rebellion.

The Crystal Gems also didn't account for Homeworld having FTL technology which they likely didn't have during the rebellion.
It's been obvious since "Jail Break" (or even "Marble Madness") that the space between Earth and Homeworld was going to buy months at most. It's basically irrelevant to the Crystal Gem's game plan, anyway—they wanted Homeworld away from Earth indefinitely, not "just" years/decades/centuries.

Obligatory Sarcasm was pointing out that the Crystal Gems tried to concealed their presence past the point of being found out, and that Homeworld gems came to Earth anyway for other reasons.

Basically. The crystal gems did various things to hide from Home World and hinder their scouts from discovering them (destroying the Red Eye, breaking the Galaxy Warp, trying to stop Lapis from escaping, destroying the transmitter tower, hiding during YD's call, etc). They didn't want HW to know that they were there, save for Marble Madness where they flat out revealed themselves. They didn't want to get the Diamonds attention and were hoping they would ignore Earth. This feels like the Crystal Gems' hiding attempts were All for Nothing as the Cluster meant the Diamonds never forgot about Earth from the start and even without that, Blue Diamond was able to go around all their precautions without them knowing.

Its funny as later Aquamarine acknowledges that Yellow Diamond is aware of them and she doesn't care.

I still think that Homeworld's nonchalance anout the Crsytal Gems is 100% due to them thinking that Earth is imminently about to be destroyed by The Cluster. Should they learn that The Cluster neutralized itself, I bet they'd be more proactive.

They'll also be more proactive if the learn what we all learned in "A Single Pale Rose," but probably in a way more panicky way.

I wonder how Jasper will react to the revelation that Rose Quartz is actually her beloved Diamond?

Personally, I think it would be like Sapphire's reaction, but a thousand times worse.

"A Single Pale Rose" made me want Jasper's corruption to be cured just to see her reaction.

It would probably leader to either a Heel Realization and redemption arc...or her lashing out at Steven for lying to her (which is technically true).

Bismuth might take it harder though, a lot harder. Since the revelations reveal an angle to recontexutalize her rejection of the Breaking Point around.

TBH I think corrupting Jasper was a mistake because it means we have to go through an extra hurdle to see her reaction or anything else from her really. Poofing her would have been a better option. And I don't think it's a very good hook to look for a cure either, because Steven was terrified of her, and the CG's have no reason to think she wouldn't still react badly.

Well, Centipeedle is all the motivation they need to find a cure. Jasper just won't be able to react until they find one (and it's entirely plausible that a Corruption cure may be revealed soon as a side effect of learning that Steven is a Diamond since Corruption was a Diamond-made ability in the first place).
