It must still sting to learn that one of your oldest friends, someone who you put so much faith and trust, someone who you credit for you being you...lied to you all this time about who she was.
We the audience know why Rose did it, so it's easier for us to sympathize somewhat with her decision.
It's a recurring theme that Rose's actions had a lot of unintended bad consequences for the people around her because she was Innocently Insensitive. Despite having good intentions. She was a perpetually immature person who wanted so badly to be more mature and tried to "fake it till you make it", with limited success.
It's perhaps a more serious and dramatic version of what Amethyst and Steven did when they tried to change themselves. Amethyst's body-image issues and Steven's angst about not aging like Connie.

Disgusted, but not surprisedIt makes me think that there are going to be tons of AU fan scenarios where Pink Diamond reveals her true form in private to the Gems, but keeps her public persona of Rose Quartz at the same time until Homeworld retreats.
I actually would be interested to see how her interactions with Greg would be in her natural Pink Diamond form.
The insinuation in Answers was that at the time the rebellion was just Rose and Pearl
Which amuses me because it's just the leader of the colony and her butler going out in disguise and trolling her sister
Forever liveblogging the AvengersEh, Greg's always been into really tall women. Heck, if he was currently looking for someone new, he probably would have been attracted to Blue Diamond.
Like I said before, replacing Rose with Pink Diamond in all of the flashback scenes is pretty funny. Especially the image of Pink Diamond wearing a Mr. Universe shirt.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI think it's the "No more questions" but. Though I doubt Rose intended for Garnet to take that literally.

There are theories that Rose either intentionally or unintentionally geassed Garnet into being unable to ask questions with how she moved Garnet's arms the same way she did Pearl's when issuing her order. Though that would imply the geass isn't a Pearl thing but a Diamond thing whereupon they can force gems to obey.

Oissu!Hasn't there been Word of God confirmation that Garnet simply swore not to question Rose?
I was saying the same thing about Rose accidentally making it so Garnet can't ask question, ever, but someone said that there was an interview where someone said that Garnet swore to Rose tat she wouldn't ask questions. If this is the case I expect it will be brought up in the episode dealing with Ruby and Sapphire split up.
So breaking down the White Diamond speculation. I think we can be fairly certain at this point that she's not just a fusion; that just flat out doesn't make any sense given what we know about fusion, but her being out of the picture solely out of disinterest doesn't sit that well with me either; it's gotten very conspicuous how the show has barely even acknowledged her existence, and while that might simply be for the sake of building hype, I prefer to assume in-universe explanations when possible. One other possibility which intrigued me is that White is a Dark Lord on Life Support along the lines of The Authority in His Dark Materials or The God Emperor of Mankind from Warhammer 40000. While the presence of her hand in Garnet's flashback suggests otherwise, we could get around that if it's a hand ship, for example.
Maybe White Diamond has been busy dealing with a problem of her own and never bother to check on the other diamonds?
I don't know, her silhouette alone gives me Ragyo Kiryuin vibes for some reason.
Uni catI think there was Word of God gems don't live forever right? If White Diamond is the oldest gem she could simply be frail due to old age, Or maybe she's died from natural causes, and they're hiding it for some reason.
I believe Pearl said they don't grow old, but can still get hurt and die. Which makes me think that Gems are The Ageless or biologically immortal
but don't have Complete Immortality. They won't die if they aren't killed, but things can still kill them, even if they are much harder to kill than organic beings.

That's not the whole truth though. Rose also didn't want them to see her that way because she didn't want to be seen as nobility. She wanted to be a common gem. So it wasn't just that it would put her in a negative light if she trusted anyone with that knowledge. Depending on the person's perspective it'd put her on an even bigger pedestal too.
