I just saw "A Single Pale Rose" after catching up and... Oh. I knew the spoiler, but still... Oh.
I can't remember the last time a Wham Episode left me so shook.

The Malibu crossover that introduced the Ego Gem I think was probably done after Marvel bought Malibu
Forever liveblogging the Avengers@Smart Girl & Adric: It's not clear what either of you mean by a "Ronaldo tier" theory. Lacking evidence? Definitely not right? Maintained after future evidence to the contrary? Horribly out-of-character?
These are not mutually inclusive, and only the first consistently applies to Ronaldo: He's made several lucky guesses, changed his theories constantly (despite his rant about "truth"), and doesn't (intentionally) make theories about people he personally knows.
- Numerous theories about corruption, including Earth's environment being the cause. Then "Same Old World" showed the first hint of the real cause, and the eventual truth became the overwhelmingly popular theory.
- People were really curious why the Crystal Gems could eat, breathe, and sleep even though they didn't have to, basically giving them redundant organ systems. They also showed they could change their default form, and Peridot showed up, looking like a triangular robot. Those altogether made some suspects the Crystal Gems were less humanoid before coming to Earth. Then Jasper showed up, Ian JQ flat-out said gems' humanoid shape was inexplicable, and Guide to the Crystal Gems specify it was just the inside of the Crystal Gems they made humanlike.
- For a while after "On the Run" aired, people thought Kindergartens were a non-standard form of gem reproduction, and that the other gems were made in some way that couldn't be reproduced. Over the course of the second season, it became gradually more obvious that all gems (except maybe the diamonds) were made that way.
- There was much speculation about the Pyramid Temple and the gem held within. Nowadays, as important as the mural was in foreshadowing the war, it seems like whatever purpose the temple itself served, and who made it, wasn't really considered.

You can imbed Youtube links—one per post, maybe more now. It's "[[youtube|:hash]]" with the "|" removed.
So I just realized something about Lars' eye scar. Given it's a pretty precise cut, it was probably made by a piece of shrapnel in the eye. As there's no exit wound, wouldn't that mean it's still in his head?

Reminds of when an animation error in "Keeping It Together" showed a bubbled cluster turn into Centipeetle's gem as it was teleported away, and people were thinking it meant... something about gem corruption. Thankfully, Burnett clarified it was just a mistake. I figure there's a "bubbled gem being teleported away" reference animation with Centipeetle's gem in it (because she was in the first episode from), and an animator's missed that they had to replace it.

You've got to take out the "|"—that was something I stuck in because it wouldn't show you the formatting otherwise (the usual "[=PotHole=]" isn't working for some reason).

I definitely remember the "forced fusion Jasper" theory came from her pupils of all things. People were trying to say that only she and Garnet had pupils so that somehow meant Jasper was a forced fusion.
It was disproven after a day or so but the steam at which it picked up was pretty fast, from what I recall.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? The earliest hints of Rose being Pink Diamond (i.e. the older Homeworld symbol in the Sky Arena, the pink diamonds on Pearl's space suit and Sardonyx's shoes) made me think Rose was one of Homeworld's leaders, who weren't all diamonds.
After "It Could've Been Great" specified the top dogs were all diamonds, I brushed off all the theories from then onward because I assumed they involved Rose publicly changing her name, which no one had any good reason to keep from Steven. But I didn't actually read any of them, so I have to ask: How many of the pre-"Back to the Moon" "Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond" theories included "but almost no one knows"? Obviously, pretty much all of them afterward would have to be—but by that point, I wasn't even paying attention.
In hindsight, I wasn't just wrong by fact, I was actively ignoring evidence. Some of these hints seems comically obvious in hindsight, like the contradictory/needlessly confusing accounts of where Rose came from (even though I myself brought them up repeatedly) or especially Pink turning out to be the exact same colors as Lion and Lars.
Speaking of Lion, another old, wrong-but-not-crazy theory, after "Lion 3" premiered, a bunch of people took the tree inside Lion's mane as a sign that Rose made him from plants. And to be fair, the tree's presence is only vaguely explained by Lion's actual origin.
Jasper being a fusion came from the fact that the only gems that had pupils were fusions. That is, every fusion we'd seen thus far except Opal.
Also there was Malachite's size, which was huge for a Two-gem fusion. And the fact that Malachite's name eded in -ite, as the only other gem to have an -ite name was also the only three-Gem fusion we'd seen thus far.
I may or may not have believed that theory for a minute or two, why do you ask?
About the only thing that would make me consider the plausibility of 'Jasper is a fusion' is their strength alone ,I've heard about the eyes theory but never really considered it
The weird thing is,hypothetically there could be a fusion that calls themselves 'Jasper'
have a listen and have a link to my discord server@Sal Fish Fin: Opal has pupils. Are you referring to Stevonnie?
I think another thing about the Jasper's a Fusion theory was because of the way her gem was faceted, it looked like it could be the gems of two other Gems so close together that they'd be mistaken for one... Which is also why the theory turned into "Jasper's a forced Fusion" following "Keeping It Together".

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢One interesting scene I remember that comes off differently post-reveal is the one where Peridot contacts Yellow Diamond and is received by Yellow Pearl. Pearl dismisses Steven's question about who she is by saying not all Pearls know each other. Now, knowing that Pearl was Pink Diamond's personal Pearl, we can surmise that she almost certainly does know Yellow Pearl from way back and was deflecting Steven's question (though possibly with some genuine annoyance at Steven's presumtion thrown in).
Unless Yellow Diamond had a new Pearl customized to look exactly like her old one. Not like we'd be able to tell.
Though if Pearl did know Yellow Diamond's Pearl, I get the feeling she wasn't on particularly good terms with her. Yellow Pearl does seem to have let her position go to her head.
On a side note, hearing all three Pearls speak made me realize that Deedee Magno-Hall is an amazing voice actress.
The only other time I was this impressed by voice acting was when I watched that episode of Rick and Morty focusing on the Citadel.

Disgusted, but not surprised

Still waiting for Amethyst to have a song with the word "strongest" in it.
