Interesting point I saw somewhere else in regards Pearl's form,Pink custom designed her to have multiple colours so she could impersonate any Gem,same with her pale skin
If Pink was a planning mastermind that is,which judging from how she effectively played both sides effectively and all without her cover being blown once, and then staged her own death without raising suspicion, then she probably was
And that bratty behaviour? She acted up knowing they would eventually give her a colony from which she could start a rebellion.
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverI really don't think PD's demand for a colony was anything but sincere.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. For a moment my top Pinterest boards were "Gay", "Space", and "Gems".
Huh.
Anyway, there's still something that bothers me about Pink...in Steven's dream she complains to the Diamonds about Rose Quartz, but she IS Rose Quartz.
So did that not happen? Or did she complain to them, expecting them to do...what.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayI'm a few pages late for first reactions, but, what the heck, that was a wham of an episode. I had heard it was going to be whammy, but I managed to avoid spoilers until I watched it and, whew, I'm glad I did. It kinda overshadowed every other episode I watched before it (poor Lapis Lazuli; I'm a genuine Sadie Killer and the Suspects fan). It gives a new meaning to so many different things.
I can see why people could hate Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz, but I personally won't point my finger at her unless I can see an alternative and reasonable course of action to what she has done. I'm not saying creating an alter ego and then waging war against yourself is a good idea, I'm saying I haven't been able to come up with another good option. I'm convinced the other course of actions I've thought of or seen around would result in any or all of the other Diamonds putting a stop to Pink's plans and taking over the Earth anyways.

I don't think Pink Diamond was a cunning mastermind.

It was a ruse.

"That darn rebel Rose Quartz! She's as brilliant and strong as she is beautiful!" -Pink Diamond maybe
Forever liveblogging the AvengersEven if you can shapeshift pretending to be two different people at once is tricky, you have account for fact they can never ever be seen together so you have plan accordingly,Pearl could pretend to be her but then she has ask "At that moment, what would Rose be doing" because her crystal gems would be wondering where she is when she's being Pink and her loyal Gems would be wondering what Pink is doing

Pearl was probably the brains of their operations

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverThe recent reveal kind of put some of Rose's past decisions in a worse light.
Like, the subtext of her refusing to use the Breaking Point because it'd make them "the same as Homeworld" now seems less like an attempt to keep a moral high ground and more her being so invested in her fake identity that she's mortified by the idea of doing something that the Diamonds would find acceptable.
The more cynical question to me is, depending on how long Rose was considering Faking the Dead, could it have occurred to her that the Breaking Point could jeopardize her plan in the sense of people might actually ask why she didn't use the BP to shatter Pink Diamond if it was well-known. The only reason I don't consider this more seriously myself is it requires more foresight than it seems Pink/Rose actually possessed.

> I figured that she still cared for the other Diamonds (and regular Homeworld gems to a lesser extent) and didn't want harm to come to them.
That and Crystal Gems shattering when they previously bubbled would lead them to break all the other rules they adhered to,plus Homeworld would just respond with deadlier weapons, and then Crystal Gems would need something counter to their counter weapon. They basically wouldn't be able to keep up and would wind up loosing once they lost the arms race
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverI feel like Rose/Pink's refusal of the Breaking Point is both a combination of Moral High ground and her old identity still surfacing. As a Diamond, the Gems are essentially her children and even if she's rejected her old life, she didn't want anything to happen to them. Remember, she assumed her sisters would leave Earth alone once she was gone, but once that didn't happen, she was forced to continue with the lie.
I think an episode devoted to showing how guilty she was about the whole thing would do wonders, because so many lives were ruined because of her actions and she kind of had to live with it until Steven was born.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.

Actually there was someone who had a more concrete basis. The Diamond insignia seen in Jail Break had three triangles which were (accurately) guessed to represent Yellow (who was mentioned), and White and Blue.
This person pointed out that while the CG symbol is a star, Rose's' personal symbol is actually a pink triangle.
Still not a good basis for a theory, mind you but I do think that particular design element was deliberate.
