Possibly, or perhaps she really didn't care (or pretended not to care) outside of the context of the damage Pink's shattering did to the Diamond Authority's legitimacy. I still think White Diamond already knows what really happens, via our Pearl (a gift to Pink Diamond from White) serving as an unwitting mole.
They're darker lower grade diamonds that are used in drill bits and other things.
I don't know why Rose not being a Quartz changed anything about her fusions. The fusion's Gem type is actually usually unrelated to their compenents.
Actually when asked about it, in the Fusions podcast, the Crewniverse said fusions pick thier own names. Rose could have consciously decided to reinforce her alleged Gem type by constantly naming her fusions after Quartz varieties.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I saw the moment in Know Your Fusion with Garnet saying she couldn't ask a question as just a meta-joke referencing that she's written as the most all-knowing of the gems, so would be the least likely to ask questions. But in terms of Rose telling her "No more questions", I thought that was more in the context of not questioning her existence as a fusion, and just accepting it, rather than "can't ask any questions about anything ever".
they're gonna find intelligent life up there on the moon/and the canterbury tales will shoot up to the top of the best-seller listI don't know if that would work with Pearl basically being made physically unable to talk about it. At least she wouldn't be able to hear about how Pink Diamond was shattered from Pearl after that. Now that that viewing orb thing has been brought up, if White knew anything I think it'd be from an intergalactic version of that probably. I think that kind of surveillance could be a theme for her character too.

I was thinking being able to literally access Pearl's memories and possibly going as far as having a Villain Override lying around for a rainy day. That might also be White's Diamond powers rather than some sort of surveillance technology.
It would be an interesting subversion of Orcus on His Throne for White Diamond to be perfectly aware of what our heroes have been doing, and be working against them unseen in the background.

I dunno. Unlike the Rose = Pink thing, there is zero foreshadowing for that. It's pure .
Heck, you could also guess that maybe White, being the first Diamond, has a psychic connection to the other Diamonds. Meaning she's actually using Steven's Gem to spy.

Disgusted, but not surprised
I wouldn't say entirely zero in show basis for WD being able to do something like that; it fits with the general theme of the other Diamond's powers for White to have some sort of mental based manipulation/clairvoyant abilities, or both given the large number of powers Steven has.
Then there was that weird moment in Steven's dream in Cant Go Back where Pearl's shadow looks at the camera and the negative space from her gem/eyes happen to look a lot like White Diamond's face in her mural.

x11 Several millennia 's worth of Becoming the Mask would probably do that to a person. But yeah, I'm hoping we get to see a flashback to the time when she first created the "Rose" persona.
Honestly this whole twist is staring to remind me of Metal Gear Solid V's ending.

GUNDAMU GUNDAMUThe "I can't" from Know Your Fusions is odd, but aside from that I feel like you're assuming Facts Not In Evidence here.
When I saw RQ turn into PD, I thought she was just shapeshifting to look like her, like how we had just seen Pearl shapeshifted into RQ. (AWESOME use of Pearl's first shown shapeshift, btw) Then with the dialogue, I was like "wait a minute…" and rewinded to the start of the scene.
I had the idea before "Can't Go Back" that Pearl was actually the one who did the deed, using her position as PD's pearl to get close to her, based on the "Where was her Pearl?!" scene from "The Trial" and Pearl being unable to say something. Then Steven has that vision, puts the pieces together quickly, and outright asks Pearl if she did it, so that's off the table as the big reveal of the episode. Then we see the second last memory layer, and RQ with Pearl's eyes! They've been saving Pearl shapeshifting for a big moment, and this was definitely it. So Pearl did do it, but she did it while disguised as RQ… for some reason they had to make it look like RQ was the one who did it? Then the last memory. RQ and Pearl are discussing the plan. Some of the dialogue tickles at me, but not enough to stop and think about it. (There was that "can't exactly shatter myself", but I thought she was speaking from an in-cover story perspective.) Then RQ turns into PD, which I thought was part of the set-up, impersonating PD. Then that "last order" bit, and wait a sec…
The reveals… they have layers, like onions.
Now I'm rewatching the end. The way Pearl says "I wanted to tell you for so long." [1]

This only follows if you ignore the actual context of what Rose was saying or thinking that Garnet literally being forced to never ask a question about anything for thousands of years is something no one would have a problem with or question. Or couldn't track back to Rose.
I think Garnet followed the request out of respect for Rose, not because she was compelled to. This might mean she'd be more willing to ask questions now that she's getting the Broken Pedestal treatment.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.So she never even uses a questioning tone?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Regarding Sapphire's Broken Pedestal thing, I really hope they go all out with that; to to the point of saying some really awful things about "Rose" (which are not entirely undeserved, but verge into in-universe Ron the Death Eater territory), Pearl (who didn't have a choice in the matter), and even going as far as to take it out on Steven (who obviously is blameless in all of this), and this arc should conclude with Sapphire apologizing to Steven, forgiving Pearl and agreeing that they need to move forwards but not forgiving Pink Diamond's deception.

Where is White Diamond? Kidnapped by Black. And the Diamonds are colonizing worlds to cluster them all together to take her on in the middle of the galaxy.
