I'm not saying the Diamonds should be shattered, but this just makes me more and more weary about how they'll deal with them after this. I don't see Yellow of all people going ahead and changing the system, it's not going to be as easy as "Bam, no more caste system".
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?![]()
It wasn't an easy problem to deal with in real life either, and still isn't in many parts of the world.
The Gem caste system represents an even more difficult problem than real life class hierarchies did and do because many of the differences between castes are biologically ingrained into them to the extent that, even if they wanted to perform a different role, many gems' physiology may make it impossible or highly impractical to get anywhere close to genuine equality, and I hope SU doesn't dance around those issues, especially since Real Life offers only a partial blueprint for resolving them.

All I know is that someone is going to make fan art of Rose Quartz and Darth Vader discussing parenting, and it's going to be hilarious. And probably awesome.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. My theory of how we go forwards; after finding out that Steven is essentially the reincarnation of Pink Diamond, and listening to what he has to say about how they run the place (Homeworld that is), Blue Diamond agrees with him, Yellow and White don't, which gives us our conflict for season 6.

I knew she was still around, I just didn't believe THAT theory would turn out to be correct.
I thought I would absolutely hate it if they went that route. But you know what? I was wrong about that too. I absolutely loved the reveal, and the layers uppon layers that this adds to so many relationships, I fricking love the drama that develops.
This turns the whole conflict with Bismuth on its head, explains so much about the CG's m.o. It also explains a lot about why Steven connects so strongly with Blue.
I'm hype beyond words.

Also, man, go back to that scene with Greg comforting Blue Diamond.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I just had a possible bit of Fridge Brilliance hit me: Pearl's tendency to unnecessarily tank blows meant for Rose Quartz during the war suddenly has a whole new meaning: Either Pearl was doing it of her own accord, or Pink's final order to keep things quiet was kicking in, because Pearl's actions weren't her Bodyguarding a Badass, it was keeping the secret from being exposed in the event that Rose actually got poofed and everyone saw her Gem.
So Pearl's minor freak out back in "Rose's Scabbard" about the fact that Rose/PD kept more secrets from her is a lot more justified now.

GUNDAMU GUNDAMUOne thing I'm wondering is why she hid Lion to begin with. I mean there stuff in his mane's stuff she'd rather keep secret, but Pearl can't get inside without her permission anyway.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.A lot of little things are adding up actually.
Thats how a good reveal should go.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIn spite of this pair of episodes containing a huge reveal, the thing I can't stop thinking about is this
.
Pearl has collected a good amount of phone numbers, at least a few of them clearly came from women she flirted with, like the one with the lipstick mark. Yet she hasn't used her phone for anything other than checking the time before this episode, meaning she hasn't called a single one back. Pearl is a fucking player!
Wasn't there a joke somewhere that she didn't know why people kept giving her sequence of numerals? Or am I thinking of a Thor comic?

This is on level of Vader is Luke's father. I mean that revelation is Its His Sled thing, but just imagine when Star Wars was still news and everyone beforehand was talking about how Vader killed his father. I mean in the first movie there is the deep emphasis to put Vader and Anakin as two separate characters
