I only noticed the second, but upon reviewing I see you're right.
So unless they're using whole planets for something that leaves them uninhabited, White Diamond has a court, we just haven't seen it. Between the war for Earth, and it's aftermath in the present, she seemingly only involved herself when specifically, personally needed. So I'm guessing the reason is simple disinterest.
I actually forgot Pink made the Zoo during all this. I wonder what the time frame was for that compared to Rose's noticing Earth's life.

It’s also not incompatible with Garnet’s depiction of Pink; she seems to have cared about organic life more than the other diamonds (excluding in her own myopic way Blue’s present day soft spot for Earth’s life as a reminder of Pink’s existence), but clearly not enough to consider abandoning her colony, otherwise there wouldn’t have been a gem war.

Yeah, until given a reason to think otherwise, I'm going to think that "no longer" is implied there.
Oh God! Natural light!I don't think the sentiment is "This one pearl stopped having an owner.", but rather "This one pearl was created to be a slave, but does not (presently) acknowledge them as ever owning her."
Basically is was a moral statement that slavery is not (legitimate) ownership, regardless of what Homeworld society thinks.
I love how each of the Crystal Gems - including Bismuth - was inspired by and embodies a different aspect of Rose Quartz' ideology. Even Peridot, who never met her and has never gotten The Talk About Rose (at least, not specifically about Rose), has become maybe the closest of any other Gem to the same love and devotion for life itself, just from being around the people who loved and learned from Rose for a while.
I still like the delightfully ambiguous double entendre of "defective Pearl"
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNew podcast, focusing on Garnet
Interesting stuff
- Garnet is never meant to ask questions
- Garnet is like Ruby and Sapphire's child because she's has the qualities of both Ruby and Sapphire
- Garnet made a pact with Rose

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverso, someone made this comment in response to that video:
"didn't amethyst psychologically torture Greg by pretending to be his dead wife and there were zero repercussions? not the best anti-bullying ambassador."
and that makes me think, shouldn't they have made an episode where greg and amethyts talk about their issues on camara, like the one with greg and pearl, instead of just showing them being all buddy buddy again, after that fucked up thing, without showing how it happened?

I wouldn't call it psychologically torture, she did a grand total once, she lashed out because she was upset about Rose leaving them
I'll have to rewatch it because I recall she did make up for it for cleaning out their garage and replaced the photo frame (I think!?)

Pink Diamond apparently laughing Anime Ojo style is nice.
One of the weirder nitpicks I've seen is people going "Pink made the Human Zoo, so of course she cared about humans! Garnet must be lying!" As if wanting to keep a zoo for a few specimens is at all the same things as respecting or caring about the species as a whole. And of course, Rose's concern wasn't even just about humans; it was all life on Earth.
