The fact that "Alone At Sea" was just going to be straight up called "Boat Murderer" is hilarious to me.

And I wonder what that third half hour was going to be.

They just said CN asked for three half-hour episodes and they ended up doing two, not that they even started on a third one.

The new promo is also on Twitter.

What was that source from a while ago that predicted April?

I think either Hulu or some scheduling website, I forget which.

Someone asked Hulu when episodes were coming to their streaming service and they said when the series starts back up in April

So yeah Hulu

Which is weird as hell, considering how Hulu usually adds episodes for cartoons a season at a time—they don't have any of season five so far, but there are 14 episodes left this season, so you wouldn't think they'd be adding more soon either.

(Amusingly, there was a time where the most recent episode on Hulu for four different CN shows—the others being Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Gumball—were all cliffhangers.)

One interesting thing that's been noticed in the promo is that White is shown to have one planet that's most likely Homeworld while Blue and Yellow do all the colonising of other worlds

Could mean White is bound to Homeworld for whatever reason

Our first glimpse of White Diamond is from a promo. I find that fitting?

Also, re: Hulu, I believe it said that the show would be airing again in April, to which someone asked on Twitter if that was true or not.

I have a theory as to why Pink Diamond was acting so childish in the flashback: she was one.

Diamonds age like any other life form, they just stop once they reach adulthood. Gems are 'born' adults because they're essentially servitor races.

I wonder if the animation from a scene in the show, or it was made for this promo.

She had a bunch of planets in her mural. Although she was only holding one, so maybe that's just signifying indirect authority.
Note that April 9th is a Monday, so it's probably a week of daily premieres.

Greg did ask Rose that one time if she ever wanted to go back home and she said never. If she were originally from Earth that wouldn't really make sense.

As other people mentioned, just because Rose was (probably) made on Earth doesn't mean she wasn't taught to think of Homeworld as the homeworld. But another thing to remember is that the Crystal Gems are horrified by what their people tried to do to the Earth, to the point that they didn't tell Steven for ten-ish years. Even Greg was freaking out. And it was early in their relationship for Rose to tell Greg "sorry we almost wiped out your species."

And early!Yellow's cape is fabulous, but I think the Shoulders of Doom fit better. They're sleeker and less wasteful, while capes are a lot more hammy and theatrical. Yellow likes to put on an air of ruthless efficiency.

[up]Setting aside we've already gone over this, Rose clearly understood what Greg meant, and none of what you've said actually has to do with that.

Sapphire, Ruby, and Pearl clearly don't want to go back to Homeworld either and hate what they were trying to do to Earth too, but that doesn't change that they're from there.

Good to see the crew say that we're not supposed to see Bismuth, Rose, or even Steven as entirely right, even if the episode did not necessarily get that across perfectly. I knew Bismuth and Rose became much grayer following the reveal about Pink (how some did not, I don't know), but they're saying that Steven's views aren't always correct.

One thing about the promo I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned already is that we can see the shape of White Diamond's gem on her forehead, indicating that she's not a fusion

Not that its likely to kill that particular theory..

@53408 Eh, I wouldn't call that a "glimpse" of White Diamond any more than the murals were glimpses of them. I mean, the suggestion that WD may finally make her appearance does have me excited, but I'm not taking too much stock in that yet.

Right about which thing? Bismuth's plan to use the Breaking Point and attacking Steven are very different.

I knew Bismuth and Rose became much grayer following the reveal about Pink
As someone (LSBK?) pointed out, that's equivocating killing one person with the systemic killing of many people.

No, not trying to kill Steven, but whether Steven is right about Never Shattering. That is Steven's view, but the show doesn't want to force one either way. At least, that is how I took it.

They also talked about saving one and the expense of many. I don't have the direct quote right now, so maybe I misinterpreted it, but I took that as meaning that is Bismuth's view. Because, for me, if you don't take out the Diamonds, they continue to kill thousands of their own people. And billions of other people as they conquer. Maybe I need to listen to it again.

Point is where supposed to see Bismuth as having a point about Rose allowing her soldiers to die to protect Homeworld's, and abandoning Homeworld to the Diamonds.

And Bismuth's anger is directed at the Diamonds and the "Upper Crusts." And considering that she isn't trying to kill Sapphire, she probably isn't advocating killing all of them either.

They also talked about saving one and the expense of many.
If you mean the podcast, I don't remember them getting into the specifics of the moral dilemma, just that they refused to describe Bismuth as "evil".

I don't have the direct quote right now, so maybe I misinterpreted it, but I took that as meaning that is Bismuth's view. Because, for me, if you don't take out the Diamonds, they continue to kill thousands of their own people. And billions of other people as they conquer.
It wasn't just the diamonds, Bismuth's intent was to regularly shatter enemy troops for a tactical advantage. It wasn't "kill few to save many", it was "kill them for a better chance at saving ourselves, and the ones of them that survive".

And though Bismuth wanted to liberate Homeworld gems (which has its own issues), she explicitly considers their lives of lesser value than the (ones who are already) Crystal Gems. "How could you value the gems of our enemies more than our own?"—that's very clearly moral outrage, not just a pragmatic issue of "How are we gonna save Earth/gemkind/life in general if we don't win the war?"

And Bismuth's anger is directed at the Diamonds and the "Upper Crusts." And considering that she isn't trying to kill Sapphire, she probably isn't advocating killing all of them either.
Bismuth doesn't want every gem above an arbitrary social standing dead, but she'd probably deliberately kill more of them than just the diamonds. Sapphire voluntarily abandoned the aristocracy—were the Crystal Gems to have taken Homeworld like Bismuth wanted, she wouldn't feel as favorable of aristocratic gems who refused to do the same.
